"You what?!"

The momentum from the emergency brake my friend pulled almost made me-at the passenger seat, hit the windscreen of her car.

"Gosh Faye, you almost killed me," I complained, holding tight of the seatbelt hugging across me.

"I almost got a heart attack, Ivy," her eyes widening that seemed like her eyeballs would be falling down if she kept pushing it. "You should've called me!"

The reason for Faye to be this mad right now was because of the incident I didn't plan to tell.

She had picked me up at home earlier, on her day off - to hang out together, and it just happened that along the way, she questioned why I was too quiet yesterday.

Safely reaching home, I was too drained out. My body was so exhausted although what I did was trembling in fear and crying in front of Kevin. Well I guess, fighting with emotions did require lots of energy.

Somewhere between that, Faye might have found it weird of why I didn't annoy her like I used to do.

And it left me with no choice other than telling the truth. She was furious.

"I thought you were busy," I shrugged, slamming her car door softly as both of us got down.

"A single phone call - emergency call, wouldn't make lose my job, Ivy!" she stomped off to the curb, confronting me.

"Well, I'm sorry," I scratched my scalp, knowing that I'd hurt her from my action.

Faye rolled her eyes as she groaned, walking past me towards the cafe we intended to go. I could tell that she was very disappointed from my action, we never had any secrets kept from each other.

I walked in through the entrance just to have myself halted in front of the glass door, eyes widened. Faye's figure had vanished somewhere leaving me alone thinking that maybe I was in a wrong place.

The interior of the cafe was different from the last time I was here. New wrapped furniture were put in a group which I assumed just arrived maybe few minutes prior.

Seems like Jacob and Evelyn were planning for a renovation.

"Ivy!" someone called my name from a corner which sounded more like a greet.

Circling to find the source, there I saw him, waving at me enthusiastically. Chanhee was engaged in a serious conversation with Jacob.

I simply waved back, signaling them that I won't be interrupting their men's talk and dragged my feet to the counter where Evelyn was standing.

She had her cheek laid on her palm as she watched me scooting closer like I was in a runway.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked, pointing towards the group of the new furniture.

Evelyn jumped on her feet, a wide grin spread across her face, "Chanhee had given us a suggestion."

"What suggestion?"

"Well," she tucked her hair behind her ear, seemed excited to deliver the news to me. "You know he studies foreign language, not one but two. And he suggested for us to turn this place into a book cafe."

I flinched.

Honestly, I was ecstatic. Though it was still in process, I could've imagined how this place would look like later.

I definitely could find the peace I craved for here.

"Besides.." Evelyn added, snapping me back into the reality. "I should let people know that the famous Ivy is my friend. I'll provide a special corner just for your books later."
