"Oh my goodness," I took a step back after realizing the whole thing happened. Obviously this wasn't good and probably won't be. "You should've told me more earlier. I could've prepared myself."
I shot Chanhee a look in which he returned it back with a confused one.
He had called me while I was with Daisy - driving around the bustling town, excitedly asking of my whereabouts. Knowing that I was free, he invited me to a newly opened burger shop in town. He even requesting for Daisy to join along.
Well, neither me nor Daisy had any suspicions raised on this invitation. We just drove all the way to the location he shared, enchanting 'good foods is happiness' diligently in our head as if it was some kind of spells.
Looking back, we should've been suspicious. It wasn't normal for Choi Chanhee to be this kind.
However, all messed up when I spotted a familiar red car at the parking lot near the shop.
The sight alone had sent shiver down my spine, triggering my anxiety to the maximum level.
"I thought you'd be happy since I bring you to meet Kevin," he attempted with a teasing smile, trying to light up the mood. "Later, he will think that all this, is a coincidence which soon turn into a fate."
"Fate my foot!" Daisy enraged, shoving Chanhee against the outer wall of the shop, his collar was now in her grasp. "Do you know what Kevin had done?"
The boy blinked in confusion, flickering his gaze from the girl who's strongly grabbing him and back to me, the main character of the story - the sad girl who wanted nothing but to experience how it felt to be loved.
Well, without me having to explain, he surely could've deciphered this situation by himself. He's smart for reasons.
"Ivy.. tell me what happened," he requested, releasing himself from Daisy's grasp as he pushed the girl away, scooting closer to me instead. But he was too close that I had to step back. "Is your confession-"
"I don't know what is his actual answer," I cut him before he could finish the sentence with something that would hurt me more. "I've been a mess and I'm still not ready to see him."
Chanhee's look softened - either he understood what I felt or he was just pitying me. Nonetheless I hoped it won't be the second.
"So you want to give up?"
I flinched with the sudden choice of question, my eyes darted ever so seriously towards him. Well, I was expecting him to tease me or the worst, laugh. Never did I expect to hear a question that sounded more like he was trying to comfort me.
Not from the savage Choi Chanhee.
"Whatever it is, right now, all of us must go inside, sitting together and devouring the food. Me and Daisy knew nothing about you two so this will be looked as a coincidence. Understand?"
He was scary. The way he glared at me, sternly saying those with straight face, he made me shiver. I could feel my legs weakened, they almost pulled me down to the ground in a form of surrender.
And Daisy seemed to notice as well. She was seen gulping, eyes wavered. Perhaps, she already regretted her decision by assaulting him earlier.
"Come on. Let's go inside before Kevin comes back from the gents," Chanhee added, beckoning us towards the entrance.
But I didn't move, more to unable to move.
Whatever Chanhee might have said to convince me, it wasn't working. And I was cursing myself for the whole thing.
My little head was just planning things up to the confessing part and I just realized it now that I'd never thought about later.
Later as if now.
