D-Day.
Feeling ecstatic to the core with a little nervousness tinting myself, I jumped down Sangyeon's car in the promised sage green dress and high ponytail. Sunglasses rested on the bridge of my nose, my feet made their way to the car boot, reunited with the owner who had the same thing on his.
Sangyeon cackled by our silliness.
"What are we even doing?" his laughter echoed, exposing a set of his pearly white teeth.
I pulled the sunglasses slightly down my nose, exposing my double-lid eyes that were glaring, a brow was raised, "Excuse me? Whose idea is this? But, I kind of like it."
Smirking as I pushed the glasses up again, Sangyeon once again cackled.
Along the journey, he had been voicing out his idea to do a funny entrance in which I couldn't help but laugh along, already picturing the whole scene. And it turned out that he had two pairs of sunglasses in his car - I didn't ask why there were two, and here we were, laughing at ourselves.
And I didn't lie when I said, I liked it. Because right now, I couldn't show Sangyeon how terrible my pupils wavering. The nervousness to be in public was killing me but that was my secret I'd never told him about.
Maybe that's why I needed Kevin, his presence would've comforted me well. But, the glimpse of him hadn't been found yet.
Is he not coming?
"Hi!" someone beamed and I couldn't resist from flinching. A lady who seemed to be around my age appeared, joining us by the curb. "I'm the owner of the bookstore, Minju."
She shoved her hand forward for a handshake to each of us, her friendly smile somehow warmed me up.
"Have they loaded the boxes yet?" Sangyeon asked Minju, referring to the team that was assigned to bring all the stocks. They supposedly had arrived before we did.
"Yes!" Minju once again beamed - so naturally, leading us well in the conversation. "All are inside now. Currently, our staff are unpacking it. Shall we take a look?"
Sangyeon flashed her a smile which I couldn't help by expressing myself after noticing a subtle expression on her face after seeing it. Like she had been bewitched.
Missy, I know what you feel.
Minju led the way and Sangyeon followed suit but not me. I was still glued to my position, skimming the area, looking for a possible hint that Kevin was here. I even took off the sunglasses to have a clear view.
But to no avail, instead of him calling for my name from somewhere I wished he popped up from, Sangyeon broke my trance.
"Come on, Ivy."
Disappointed, I pursed my lips, reaching to where he was standing now - by the entrance, holding the door open.
Sangyeon seemed to notice my awkwardness. Though I'd passed through the door, he was still staring at me with knitted brows beneath the sunglasses.
"What?" I questioned.
He took off the glasses as well, straight fine lines outstretched on his forehead from the constant frown became more visible. "You seem to be waiting for someone."
Yes, I am.
"No, I'm not," I didn't tell him about Kevin honestly. Because I thought it was not important. But, I was suck on lying so it tore me on how to cover this up. Until my eyes darted to a corner, an opened box placed under a stand with a label on top. "Gash!"
Sangyeon coughed, bending his body forward as an aftermath of something I didn't know or more to didn't realize I did. Because I might or might not have hit his stomach.
