20: Worrisome

"Anyway, I will be creating a medicine, so please excuse–"

"Momo." 

Zeri looked ahead of herself to find to her surprise Prince Shoto entering the room. 'Ah– Well this is different from what I expected.'

"The Young Prince–" the servants all bowed down to him in mere seconds while Zeri remained standing there processing the sight. 

'Huh– So it wasn't my imagination.' 

"And who are you?" Shoto questioned. 

"Ah– Apologies, as it has been quite a while since the last time I've seen the Prince of the Todoroki family this close in person. I was only here to treat the Princess from her cold." 

"Then is she clear of her cold?" 

"Yes, but because of the treatment I gave her, it will take some time for her physical body to recover completely." Zeri clarified. 

"Then–" 

She noticed how he paused, causing her to make direct eye contact with him to see a pink hue growing over his cheeks. 

"Then would it be alright for me to watch over the Princess?" he asked with worry in his eyes, causing the doctor to bat her eyes to process the question.

'Ah– Huh?' 

"You– You wish to watch over the Princess?"

"Yes, as I've been quite worried about her, and not to mention that I haven't been able to spend much time with her recently until now. I think if I watch over her, then we will bond a bit more." he explained as his expression remained worrisome. 

'He– He wants to get closer to the Princess like this? This isn't the first time I've dealt with royalty and commitment in a relationship, but seeing how he appears worried for her condition is a bit new to me. Perhaps I should test him first.' she thought as she rubbed her eyelids from exhaustion. 

"Hah~ Very well, but I must ask you some things first." 

"Mn. Alright, I will answer right away."

"Ahem– How old are you?" 

"Wha– I'm 21." 

"Your height?" 

"176 centimeters." 

"Relatives?" 

"I-I have 2 brothers and a sister, I'm the youngest." 

"Parents?" 

"A-Alive and well." 

"Blood type." 

"O-O." 

"When's the last time you got severely sick?" 

"I was 5 years old." 

"Past relationships?" 

"N-None." 

"Then how much are you committed to protecting the Princess once you two are wedded?" she questioned, causing there to be a loud silence filling the air. 

'I need to know if you are really using true emotions behind your words, Young Prince. Depending on your answer will also depend on if your family is truly against the Marriage or not.' Zeri thought. 

But to her surprise, she watched as Shoto rested his hand against his chest and clenched it tightly into a fist as he lifted his attention back to her.

"I– Though I do not know a lot about love and things like that, the Princess has already made me feel a certain way towards her that is... comforting. I feel like I don't have to hide myself from her, even when we have barely spent time together. I– I wish to commit to being her husband all the way even after we are married. I want her to be happy and that means that I will be as loyal as I possibly can." Shoto expressed as the pink hue grew to his ears and showed how embarrassed but courageous he truly is towards the Princess.
