89: Return the Favor

'She– She has powers...'

"Oh shit." he muttered, only to watch the greenette make a subtle flinch and then turn her head around to look at him with a blank face full of anger. 

Just seeing how her eyes shined a brighter Emerald green than usual caught him off guard, but he knew that if she were to let her approach him like this, he would end up like this man in the cage of thorns. 

"Shit– Uh– I-Izuku, i-it's me. You know who I am! L-Look, I'm your friend, s-so you don't need to think of me as a bad guy. I wanna help you! I'm not here to hurt you, I'm here to help you! A-And if you don't calm down... you'll get worse! You're already injured, so just listen to me and just... calm down." he tried to express as he knew that even trying to take a few steps back wouldn't be a good idea.

But even as he tried to speak to her, her expression remained the same as she continued to approach him. 

'Shit, she could do something bad if I don't stop her now, but how do I stop– Wait–' 

He looked directly into the greenette's eyes as she continued walking towards him, but instead of him wanting to run away from her, he decided to raise his arms out to her. 

Izumi halted in place as she stood there staring at the blond as he kept his arms stretched out before her. 

"See? It's just me, and I'm not trying to do anything that'll hurt you. So... come here." he commanded.

And what a command it was as the greenette's body jerked and her expression lessoned and calmed down only for her eyes to close as she lost her balance and began falling. 

"Izuku!" 

Katsuki rushed up to her and caught her to then kneel down with her body in his arms and to see how calm and relaxed her unconscious expression appeared. 

'She's– She's back to normal, so I guess that worked, but...' he paused as he slightly turned her body away from him to reveal her bloodied back and the large gash still clearly open. 

'She won't wanna wake up any time soon with how much blood she's lost. I gotta get her outta this place before more of 'em come.' he thought as he rested his arm under her legs and carefully picked her up off the ground to have her head resting on his chest. 

'I gotta get her fixed fast.'

He searched his surroundings and could see his horse just feet away from him, and so he ran–with the greenette in his arms–through the forest until he approached his noble steed and hopped on the animal. 

"There's a cave somewhere not far from here, I think. Gotta get us somewhere we can hide for the night. Yah!" he instructed as he tugged on the reins for the horse to start galloping through the woods. 

As he tried to use his peripheral vision to analyze his surroundings, the blond Captain was completely aware of how the greenette was shivering in his arms because of all the blood she'd already lost. 

'I'm gonna have to make a fire once I find a cave, she's so pale.' he thought as all he could do was lean into her face and gently peck her forehead with his warm lips in hope of some warmth helping her body. 

"I'm not gonna let this happen again, you hear me?"

Soon, the horse began to neigh proudly as it stopped in its tracks, making the blond look up in his surroundings, and when he looked in front of him, there was a cave as clear as day.
