Shangri La Pt. 1

23: Unanticipated

As the sound of crackling fire and the warmth spread through the small shed, the greenette felt herself starting to wake up.

Izumi peeked her eyes open as she noticed how the warmth was a lot closer to her body than she'd expected, but it was only then did she realize what was in front of her. When she focused on what was before her, her eyes batted to process that it was a man's chest right in front of her face. And when she lifted her head up to see who was responsible, her eyes widened as she thought she was dreaming to see a certain blond sleeping right next to her. 

'Ah– Eh–' "EEEEEEEHHHHHHH?!?!?!" she screamed, alerting the blond in front of her to wake up and see her eyes were open.

"W-W-What's going on here?!?! W-What're you doing here?!?" she screamed right in his face, making him flinch by her high pinch of a voice. 

"Geez, stop screaming, I'm right here." 

"T-Then when are you right here and not... not... Just what're you doing here?!?!" she screamed as she sat up. 

When she sat up, it wasn't then till she realized how his arm was wrapped around her waist and how she was covered by the futon while he was just lying there on the wooden floor. 

"What– I– Who– How– Why're you here?!?" 

He sighed as he sat up off the floor to rub his eyes as she remained panicked to see him actually there. 

"If you stop screaming and asking questions, then are you gonna listen?" he groaned. 

"Y-You–"

Just when she tried to say something else, both were interrupted when the sound of a subtle knock got their attention. 

"It's me, Zeri, I know both of you are awake, so I'm coming in." Zeri spoke as she opened the door to reveal herself. 

"Z-Zeri–" 

"Well since she's here, I gotta go get something." Katsuki groaned as he stood up and walked past the doctor and out the shed without saying anything else. 

"Ah– Why– Why was he here?" Izumi asked as she pointed at the door with raised eyebrows. 

"Hah~ So he left me to answer everything, that's fair. First, how are you feeling?" 

"Oh– I'm fine. I think... my fever's gone." 

"That's because I gave you the proper treatment for it, but I didn't expect you to end up staying asleep for another 4 days." Zeri spoke as she sat down in front of the greenette.

"4-4 days?!?! How was I out that long?" 

"It seems you've been working pretty hard recently, to the point that you over exhausted your body. You should be more careful, as your condition could've gotten worse, but then again you're lucky. That Captain was actually the one that found you inside of here and even went off to find me and drag me here. Hah~ He's lucky I was already in the palace grounds when he found me and brought me here, otherwise you would've had to wait for another doctor, and that would've taken days to do." Zeri explained as she rested her thumb on the greenette's wrist to check her heartbeat. 

"Katsuki– He found me?" 

"Yes, and if you weren't friends with him, then no one would've known that you were sick. And don't worry, since I'm close friends with the Great Piscis, I already told her that you were sick." Zeri added.

"I– I had no idea. I was trying to hide my fever and just work through it on my own–" 

"That's never really a good idea, as things could've been worse for you."
