128: Cumbersome

Crash! 

"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" Izumi expressed as she bowed to the other maids after accidentally hitting and making a vase drop and break into pieces on the floor. 

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention!" 

"It's okay, Miss Izumi, you don't need to apologize, it happens." one of the maids assured her. 

"B-But I–" 

"Don't worry about it, we'll get a broom and clean it up."

"Ah– But I should at least help clean up my own mess. Here, let me at least try to pick up the big pieces before anyone gets hurt." 

"Oh no, Miss Izumi, you really don't–" 

"Ouch!" 

"Miss Izumi, are you okay?!" 

Izumi looked up from the floor to see all the maids crowding around her with worried expressions to see she'd cut herself after trying to pick up a piece of the broken glass vase.

"Ah– Y-Yes, I'm okay, it just surprised me, that's all." 

"That doesn't look like a deep cut, but you should go see the doctor to patch it up." one of the maids suggested. 

"Oh no, I shouldn't, I should stay and finish what I started." 

"No, you mustn't! It is a rule in this Kingdom that if you are injured, you must leave for the day and cannot work the rest of the day." 

"A-Are you sure, i-it's nothing too serious, and it's just a little cut." 

"No no, you must go and get it fixed. We won't hear the end of it if we don't stop you from getting that cut cleaned up." another maid pleaded. Seeing all the maids worried like this over a cut that barely hurt as it was the size of a coin was something new to the greenette. 

"I-I... I suppose I'll be done for the day." 

"Phew~ Now please go and see the doctor. We'll do just fine, so please get some rest!" one of the maids expressed as they practically pushed the greenette out of the room. 

'I guess they'll be fine without me even asking. Hah~ What's wrong with me? I never do stuff like this. Maybe seeing the doctor will help.' Izumi thought as she shamefully walked through the hallways to head to the doctor's chambers.

'Knock knock knock' "Dr. Gunner, are you there?" Izumi asked after carefully knocking on the door. And after waiting just a few seconds, the door opened to reveal Takashi wide awake and seemingly happy to see the young greenette. 

"Ah! Miss Izumi, wonderful timing, come in!" Takashi announced as he let the greenette enter his chambers. 

"I'm sorry for bothering you in the middle of the day like this." 

"Oh no no, you've come at an impeccable time! So, what can I do for you?" he asked, only to watch the greenette lifted her hand out in front of him to reveal her tiny cut. 

"Ah– Oh." 

"I accidentally cut myself trying to work, and all the other maids begged that I get it treated. It doesn't hurt or anything like that, but they insisted I get it cleaned up." she explained.

"Hmph– I see~ I can only presume that you got this measly little cut from some broken glass?" 

"Ah– Y-Yes, I-I did. But... How did you know?"
