144: Challenge

"Do you two have to go so soon? You only just got here?" Mitsuki asked as Katsuki was already ready to go after the four of them had shared a meal. 

"We can't stay, we've got somewhere we need to be." Katsuki stated. 

"Can't you at least stay for the night, we would love to get to know you more, Izumi?" Mitsuki begged, clasping the greenette's hands. 

Staying for a night might've sounded like a wonderful idea, but because the pair had already been gone from the East in 2 weeks, they needed to return. 

"I'm sorry, as much as it sounds like a wonderful idea, we can't. I serve in the palace and Katsuki hasn't been doing his Captain duties in the East for some time." Izumi explained as hoped the blond's parents would understand. 

"B-But–" 

"Let them go, honey, they're at that age where they want to do things for themselves." Masaru comforted.

"And don't worry, we'll come back again soon, and I promise that we will visit you more often than you want." Izumi assured them, as tears only formed up in the mother's eyes. Mitsuki got so emotional that she just raised her arms out and pulled the greenette into a hug and embraced her. 

"O-Oh!" 

"Thank you so much." 

"Hm? B-But I haven't done anything." 

"Yes you have, sweetie, you've done something I never thought would be possible for our family." Mitsuki expressed as she released the greenette to then rest her hand on her cheek. 

"Please take good care of him for us." 

"Ah– Mn. I will... mother." 

Hearing the greenette call her by that only made Mitsuki pull her in for another hug and start crying her eyes out again. 

"Wha– Yah! Don't cry on her like that!" 

"Sweet little Izumi is so pure and kind for our son, this is too much~" Mitsuki cried. 

"Would you just quit it already!?!?!"

"Bye~ We'll see you again really soon!" Izumi exclaimed as she waved the blond's parents goodbye after getting on the horse. 

"You better make sure to take good care of that sweet girl, you hear me, brat?" 

"Yeah yeah, I hear this enough from Yu, I don't need to hear it anymore." Katsuki groaned as he jumped onto the horse. 

"Make sure you two eat a lot and are taking care of yourselves, and hopefully the next time you two come, we'll be more prepared for you to stay." Mitsuki noted. 

"Ugh– Why do you always try to make me stay?" 

"Only because you and your sister don't come here enough or at all!!!" the blonds argued. 

"Hmph, are we good to go now, Katsuki?" 

"Yeah." 

"Well then, goodbye, mother, father, it was very nice meeting you both."

"Of course! It was wonderful to meet you too! And that means you better make sure not to treat her badly, you brat!" 

"Geez, what's with all the earfuls of the same thing over and over?!?! We're leaving!" 

"Bye!" 

"Take care, both of you!" 

"Maybe bringing you here was a bad idea." Katsuki muttered. 

"Eh? What do you mean? Your parents are so nice." 

"Yeah but..." the blond paused as he started pouting his lips.
