Sitting in the chair as the doctor wrapped bandages onto both of the greenette's slightly burned hands, Izumi remained silent and dazed by the events that took place less than an hour prior. Takashi could see that even she wasn't sure what happened, so he decided to start the conversation.
"What you did... is not something I've heard to have been done possible before." he started, catching her attention.
"I-Is– Is that bad?"
"Not really sure, as you might've just started an entirely new bloodline for the future."
"W-What do you mean?" Takashi finished wrapping her hands and turned to his table to look through his tools.
"No one–no Emerald–has ever used a preserved Gem heart and fused it with someone who isn't a member of a clan. It's been known that people have swallowed a Gem heart, but I know Katsuki couldn't have done that if he was poisoned." Takashi stated.
"I... I still don't understand how he was poisoned. He should be immune to poison, so how did that potion manage to do that to him unless it was–"
"It was plant based."
"Eh?"
"The poison that Katsuki consumed was plant based. Yes, there are a lot of poisons out there that are plant based, but it is clear that the plant he consumed was one he'd never had before. Not just that, but I can tell you which plant it was as well." Takashi added, making the greenette stand to her feet.
"A-Are you saying you really were the one to poison Katsuki?"
"No no, I don't make poison, and the only reason I know what plant it was that was mixed into the potion... was because I went to my medicine chambers to see some ingredients missing. One of them was the plant that Katsuki consumed in that potion. Unfortunately, I do not know who would be responsible for making that potion, but maybe if you thought deeply about all the people that have been around Katsuki... who would be the real culprit?" Takashi questioned.
Right then, Izumi thought back to right when Katsuki was poisoned and saw both Yu and Camie running up to the scene.
"C-Camie."
"There you go."
"B-But... But that wouldn't make sense, Camie wouldn't want to hurt Katsuki like this."
"Also correct, but that doesn't mean she didn't possibly try to find a way to get Katsuki to focus on her like she wanted. Think about it, Miss Izumi, before you got your hands on that potion, who gave it to you?"
"I-It was Awase."
"Right, but how did he have his hands on it?"
"H-He told me that he got it from you... but... but before he answered us about it, he looked like he was in deep thought about how to answer."
"Then he was lying and Camie told him not to tell anyone she was the one responsible."
"All just so Katsuki wouldn't find out it was from her..."
"Correct."
"B-But... But with what I've done, will Katsuki be okay?"
"Mmmh~ Hard to say since this is something that's never been done before. It's one thing for an Emerald to preserve someone's Gem, but it's another for an Emerald to fuse a Gem into someone like that. Perhaps what you did worked and fixed Katsuki in a way, but it could've also caused his body to change and leave him in intense pain."
"Ah– But– I-I only thought it would work and be a good idea since the last time Katsuki got poison–through an arrow–in his body, Zeri used her lightning powers to burn the poison out of him and close his wound. I thought if I could use his Ruby to fuse into his body, then it would do the same and burn the poison out of his body. I-I was only trying to help."
