Nightmare POV:
When I was younger, I'm not sure if I was corrupted or not at that point, my memory is fuzzy and Passive refuses to help, but anyway, I met a Geno au. He was a lot like me. And we became friends. Really good friends. I thought. But then one day, he was gone. Never saw him again.
Well until now, a whole 400 years after.
He looked a lot different than he used to. Went by Error now too.
But...he doesn't remember me.
If he's anything like he used to be though, I can still be friends with him. Maybe it'll help home remember me. But I don't know what I did the first time. And Passive's still being a little shit. It had something to do with hobbies and interests. But isn't that how all relationships work? I'm screwed. Maybe I should just talk to him.
I sighed as I got up from my desk, finally deciding. Error's still usually in his anti-void, he hates it when he comes out. I teleported there and found him on his bean-bag chair.
"Hey glitch-face." I said. He glared at me.
"What do you want, octopus?" I rolled my eyes. We're both on okay terms, but not friends. Like I want. I want him to remember.
"Mind if I hang out here for a bit? My idiots are pushing my buttons again."
"Fine. Just don't touch me." I smiled.
I grabbed a book from the castle real quick and began reading beside him, on the ground.
It was oddly relaxing. Error was silent, excluding the sound of his knitting, and I remained silent too, just turning pages.
...
We ended up doing it more often. It soon turned into Error asking me to come to the anti-void.
I arrived and sat on the floor as usual, opening my book.
"Hey, you can sit with me on here." Error suddenly said. "Just don't touch me." I nodded.
I retracted my tentacles to make it more comfortable for him. It's working. I'm becoming friends with him again. I smiled as I continued reading my book.
"Hey Error?" I eventually asked.
"Hmm?" He asked.
"Did you ever have a friend...like...a long time ago?" I asked.
"If I did they're long dead." I looked away. "Why?" Error asked.
"Because I did. No idea what happened to him."
"Hmph. Why should I care?"
"Just thought you'd like to know." I sighed. So he really has no memory of me.
"Are we friends?" I asked.
"Sure..." Error replied.
...
Soon Error and I kept hanging out. It really reminded me of before.
I need to tell him though. If he doesn't remember, it may seem awkward, but this is weighing down on me.
I went to the anti-void at the usual time I did. Error was knitting, as he usually did.
"Hey Error?" I asked. He turned to me. "Look, I don't know if you're going to believe me, but..." I then went on to explain what I remember and how I recognized him and that I was upset he didn't remember.
Error looked at me when I was done.
"Look, Night." I looked at him. "I'm going to take your word here, my memory is extremely bad about...that time. But since I don't remember, let's just make new memories. Okay?" I smiled.
"Okay." I sat beside Error and we began talking.
I feel like our friendship is now as strong as it once was.
He even started teaching me how to knit. I'm glad I have my friend back.
