Bedroom

With the recoupling in the past, peace is creeping its way back into the Villa. You wake up slowly, your eyes bleary from sleep. It feels like I slept forever. As your eyes adjust to the light, you realise all the other beds are empty. I must have slept in! Gary is still asleep beside you. You watch Gary sleep for a few calm moments. His full lips are slightly parted. Gary looks kind of beautiful. You wrap an arm around his waist and snuggle under the duvet. You cuddle up close, feeling Gary's warmth around you. You sigh happily, then yawn. "It's always lovely to snuggle with you."

Gary rubs their eyes and turns to look at you. "Hey. Good morning." Gary stretches and looks around the room. "Wow, how long did we sleep for?"

"I'm not sure!"

"Mm, not long enough." He turns to you. "It's actually peaceful in here for once. You know I could spend all morning with you." Gary lies on his side, facing you. The duvet provides cover from the rest of the room. Luckily, though, it's quiet this morning. The others are already out in the garden, enjoying breakfast in the sun. For a while, the two of you lay there chatting.

"Do we really have to get up?" It's so nice to get some privacy!

"It's so nice when everyone else is outside," Gary said, a warm smile crossing his face. "I can't remember the last time I had a good lie-in. I never get the time. My shifts start pretty early. I don't sleep in on my days off, either. It would mess with my routine."

"You don't sleep in? That's... So tragic," you teased him.

"Hah! It's honestly not so bad! I like to get stuff done in the morning. I'm most alert right after I wake up!" You run your fingers gently over his torso, causing his eyes to brighten. He smiled warmly at you, adding, "Feels like I haven't had a lie-in since I was a teenager."

"So not too long ago, then..."

"Oi, cheeky." Gary ran his fingers gently through your hair, smiling brightly.

"It's nice to get to lay in like this every now and then. I'm always up early for work or uni.... Waking up slowly, sun coming in through the curtains, surrounded by warm blankets... Heaven. It's one of life's simple pleasures." The two of you move closer to one another. "We could stay in bed a little longer," you said as you looked at him and bit your lip. And who knows what could happen?
