You wake up slowly to the sound of your partner's breathing. Everything is calm in the bedroom. You can hear bedsheets rustle and soft snores rumble under the duvets. You lie there awake, waiting for the lights to come on. Priya's perfume bottle is on your bedside table. The last couple of days have been... Tough. You sighed inwardly. I can't believe things have changed so much in just a few days. I keep thinking about Priya. She brought so much to the Villa and nobody could replace her. You turn to look at Elijah who lies there mouth agape, legs tangled in duvet. Aww, look at him. A small smile played on your lips. He's really out for the count. You tilted your head. I should...Nudge him. You poke Elijah in the side with your foot.
Elijah jerked awake. "Huh? What?" He opens his eyes, sees it's you and is a little surprised. "Hey! What are you doing?"
"I was bored. But now you're awake we can chat!"
Elijah exhaled, rubbing a hand over his face. "Good morning."
"Morning." You flashed him a warm, friendly smile.
You can hear the sounds of the birds outside and the gentle snoring of the other Islanders in the room.
