Here they are , Hecate's temple . A beautiful construction of clean white marble . It stood tall on a hill , not too far away from the main part of the city .
Phedora and Charis were dressed in dark clothes to look like Hecate's priestesses and not raise any suspicions . They walked on the soft green grass to the temple .
"Remember , we are just some priestesses." Phedora said entering the temple .
"I know , I know." Charis walked behind her "How are we summoning Hecate ?"
Phedora walked to the altar at the back of the temple "A prayer ? I am sure Hecate could listen to the Demigod of the Prophecy's prayer."
Charis chuckled "You sure take advantage of this title , don't you ?"
Phedora smiled "Maybe." she walked closer to the altar . She knelled in front of it . She tilted her head down .
"Hecate , the goddess of magic , the night and necromancy ," Phedora began "Me , Phedora , daughter of Zeus and the Demigod of the Ancient Prophecy , and Charis , daughter of Apollo , we request your divine help in awaking the gods again and fulfill the Ancient Prophecy." Phedora raised her head "Let's hope that wo-"
Suddenly purple smoke started swirling around the altar . Phedora stood up then backed away from it . The smoke gathered in front of the altar making a purple sillhouette of a woman .
Before the two girls stood a tall and beautiful woman with long and wavy black hair . Her eyes were glowing a light blue and she was holding a torch . She wore a long dark purple sleeveless dress . Two dogs with furr as black as coal appeared at her sides . They looked at Phedora and Charis with a menacing stare . Phedora gulped with fear .
"Do not fear them , daughter of Zeus." Hecate said . She spoke with an emotionless voice , her expression not changing "They will not hurt anyone unless I say so."
Charis knelled in front of the goddess , head down . Phedora copied her movement "Hecate.." Phedora said , still having her head down .
"Stand up now , demigods." Hecate said . Both the girls stood up "I do not have much time untill someone will notice my dissapearence." In Hecate's free hand appeared a glass flask . The godess gave the flask to Phedora . Phedora looked down at the flask "What does this flask contain ?" she asked the goddess .
"Life . Pure life . One drop of it can awake any mortal . The whole flask can awake a god." Hecate explained "You just need to have three of their most prized possesions and their soul trapped in one of them."
I knew this could not be easy .
"But how do we trap a soul ?" Phedora asked .
"You will know later on . I have to go now , as I said , I do not have much time." the purple smoke started swirling along the goddess' figure .
"Wait ! I have another question ! Will you fight on our side in the war ?" Phedora asked .
"I will not fight on anyone's side." Hecate said in a cold tone . The goddess dissapeared along with the purple smoke ."There is someone coming to the temple." Charis said to Phedora . She was right . A figure was approaching the temple . A girl with blonde and curly hair . She was holding a bronze sword in her hand . Phedora recognized the unform she was wearing and froze in fear .
A finder
By the purple cloak on the girl's back , she was a co-general .
"Good morning , girls . I am co-general Iro . I observed some suspicious activity . What is happening here ?" the finder smiled warmly at them . Phedora tried to see the real emotion behind it but did not observe anything . It was a genuine smile .
Charis took a step closer to the finder "Good morning , co-general . Pleasant to meet you." she smiled back "We are just some of Hecate's priestesses who did a complicated ritual."
Phedora saw the panick in her friend's eyes "We are truly sorry for causing any confusion." she butted in , smiling and nodding slowly .
The co-general smiled again at them "Alright then . Have a great day." the finder turned away from them and walked out of the temple . Phedora and Charis watched untill she was out of their view .
Phedora sighed with relief "That was close."
"We should go back to the base as fast as possible." Charis suggested . Phedora agreed .
