She strolled for the last time through the ruins of Mt. Olympus with slow steps . She gazed again for the last time at the destroyed columns , at the piles of rock and marble that sat almost everywhere , at the remains of a once grandious throne room that was covered in ash and stains of golden ichor . The goddess of wisdom glanced from the top of the mountain at the scenery that stood in front of her .
Her warband was just below the mountain , making their last preparisons for the battle .
In their campaing to form an allience Thanatos persuaded to join them a total number of twenty eight titans , inclusing Rhea . Even if most of the others were lesser titans . Any help was welcome .
Since the last war a lot of titans decided to stay neutral , not wanting to take part in the fight . It was brought to Athena's attention that Kronos could not rally them to fight , nor could the allience , for they were Nyx's relatives , under her protection . No one would afford a conflict with Nyx .
But there were still some of her children that participated in the war either on their side on Kronos' .
Selene and Helios also kept their neutrality , as they needed to be on their jobs while the battle was on . And that brought Kronos' allies to a number of thirty two , incliding his ace in the sleeve , Typhon .
Even if he had more numerous and powerful allies , the goddess of wisdom believed that with a good strategy even the smallest army could obtain a victory . Now it was the day to test that theory .
In her last letter Rhea mentioned that Kronos was planning something . Which not only striked Athena as suspect but also made her worry of the consistency of their startegy . They had to be prepared for everything . The goddess prepared plans for any circumstance in battle . But there was not enough time to go through all of them again and fill any existent gaps .
The battle started when the Resistence attacked the Finders . All they had to do for now was wait .
Athena knew that Phedora went to the Finders' base the night before . It was only natural to observe the Chosen Demigod's activity in detail . But somehow when the girl entered the base the goddess could not see what happened inside . It was as if a shield blocked out her view . She wondered why Phedora went there . She wondered what she had done .
But she brushed it off , thinking Phedora was collecting knowledge from the Finders before the battle . It was a reckless move to do , but Athena had  enough knowledge about demigods to know that they were reckless at times , especially when they got their feelings involved . The goddess also knew that she should trust Phedora . She had no choice , for the demigod was her only key to finally ending the Titans' rule .
The wind stirred around , the evening sky having a gray hue to it . It had been a cloudy day .
The goddess of wisdom slowly travelled down from the ruins of Olympus and took her place at the front of her small warband . The knuckles of the hand with which she held her spear turned white around the celestial bronze . Her Aegis stood strapped on her back with a steady and thick leather .
She stared in the distance . A sudden chill appeared in the air and Athena felt the anticipation flow through her . The goddess frowned at the vast hills that stood in front of her . And then she saw them . She saw them marching towards them .
"They are coming !" Athena announced . She took her Aegis off her back .
