Grant was not one to joke around or have fun. Which is why it was strange when Wally said that he saw him at the top of a mountain and hysterically laughing at the thin air like it was a drug. It still couldn't beat him inviting Shawn over for rock climbing the very next day, one of the jokesters of the studio. But then again, the both of them have a strange sense of humor

Shawn yelped as he lost his footing, clinging on the rope in pure desperation. Grant lowered himself about two feet until he was next to the toymaker. He raised an eyebrow and let slip a slight smirk.

"Seriously Shawn? We aren't even over a yard of the ground. You aren't afraid of heights are you?"

Shawn shook his head. "Nah, I'm not afraid o' heights, I'm afraid that you, a person who never fuckin' smiles, invited me ta an activity that has led ta multiple casualties."

Grant frowned. So that's what he thought of him?

He looked up and started to climb in silence, every now and then pausing to look for a nook as he ascended. He was quick, Shawn had to push himself to catch up with the black haired man. He was struggling going up the mountain, yet Grant climbed almost effortlessly up the rock, only stopping a few moments to check his next move.

"Shit!" Grant exclaimed as the rock he held onto came loose and fell, causing him to lose his footing as well and dangle from one arm and a rope.

"Damn Grant! Ya okay there?" Shawn called up, using this time to try and close the slight distance between them. With a huff, Grant got acquainted with the side of the mountain again.

"Keep things going and I might just actually kill you here," Grant said blankly, slightly salty that he thought that the accountant couldn't hold his own. It was nice of him to worry, but slightly annoying. He didn't need help with this of all things.

Shawn awkwardly laughed. "Ha ha, dark humor, nice joke... please say it was a joke. Grant? Say it was a joke."

He didn't say that it was a joke.

And so at the top, the air was thinning and Shawn had a harder time climbing. Rolling his eyes slightly, Grant knelt down at the edge and extended his hand as an offering, which Shawn shook off.

"Nah, I can do this," He replied, coughing slightly. Next Grant offered some water to soothe the cough. Another denial. Then an offering of papers with mathematical equations littering it, confusing the Irishman.

"... What in the world- Grant why'd ye give me scrap o' paper?" Shawn asked incredulously as the accountant pocket the paper. Without another word, he grabbed Shawn wrist and helped pull him up, earning a small yelp from the brunette. If he had the height he would have lifted him by the arm and left him unable to touch the ground.

"Because you aren't taking my generous help, Flynn. And no, I'm not going to drop you," Grant replied calmly. He still looked annoyed but not so much that it was different from his normal "mangy" look.

Feeling the pressure on his wrist relax, Shawn laid down and caught his breath, taking a drink from his bottle that he couldn't reach a while before. Grant just loomed over him, a shadow covering his face in an intimidating way that made him gulp.

"You'll get used to the air Flynn, though it'll take longer for you," Grant simply said before leaving. He paused. "You did well for the first time."

Shawn got to his feet and squealed when he saw Grant leaving him. He almost ran to catch up, but his exhaustion limited him to a power walk.

"Don' call me Flynn, I thought I told yeh ta call me Shawn," He said as he caught up with the taller man, matching his pace.

"You didn't."

"Oh."
