28. Beach

Carlos was driving for ten more minutes until he stopped by a beach. It wasn't a regular beach. The sand was almost white and there were palms. This place felt more like Maldives than Spain.

"I though that maybe we can watch the sunrise from there?" he said.

"Yeah, that would be nice" Naomi said.

Together they walked closer to the sea and sat on the sand. The waves were providing a calm sound. Carlos looked into her eyes. Naomi felt tired and placed her head on his shoulder.

"What are we doing here?".

Naomi flinched. She quickly turned her head. It was Max, he had to follow them.

"What are you doing here?!" Carlos said.

"I followed you, I thought we have some change of plans" Max said simply.

"Are you dumb or what, noone told you we have a change of plans" Carlos said.

Max sat next to them.

"Can you just leave?" Carlos asked him.

"No, I don't remember the way" Max said.

"Are you serious? It is just straight down the main road and then turn right on the exit 48" Carlos said.

"Instructions unclear, I will just wait for you two" Max said.

Carlos frustration was obvious. Naomi was watching stars.

"Naomi do you want to go back?" Carlos asked her.

"No I want to stay for a bit, if that's ok with you" Naomi smiled at him.

"You heard her, she wants to stay, you can leave" Max said.

"I don't want to leave, I want you to leave and I don't want Naomi to feel uncomfortable because of you, that's why I asked her if she wants to leave, also I drove her there and you said you don't remeber the way" Carlos said with furrowed eyebrows.

"Stop acting like you are some f*cking gentleman" Max said.

"I don't have to act, I am a gentleman" Carlos answered.

"Can you both stop, just relax and enjoy the view, the sun will be rising soon" Naomi cutted off their argument.

They all sat there in quiet, after one hour, the sun slowly started raising. It was beautiful, the clouds looked pink and the sand was getting pink tones from a sunlight.

Naomi took her phone to capture this moment only to see 20 missed calls from Daniel. She had her phone on silence mode and totally forgot to text Daniel where they are.

"Sh*t, we have a problem" and showed Carlos the missed calls. Carlos also had his phone on a silent mode so he also didn't hear that Daniel was calling.

"Max, did you call or text Daniel where we are?" she asked him.

"No" Max said.

"And he didn't call you?" she asked him.

"I don't know, I have my phone in the car" he said.

Naomi quickly started calling Daniel. He picked up immediately.

"Naomi! Are you all alright?! Where are you? We all are looking for you guys, we thought something happened" Daniel said clearly concerned.

"Sure we are alright, sorry" Naomi said.

"Oh, good, I will tell the police you all are alright" Daniel said.

"Police?! You called police?" she asked him.

Carlos and Max next to her looked concerned and Naomi was able to spot a guilt in Carlos eyes.

"Yes, I called the police, I will get back to you ok? I just have to tell them to cancel a search" he said and hung up.

Naomi felt tired, this vaccation wasn't a relax at all. It was one problem after another.

"We have to go" said Naomi.

When they reached a car, Naomi was about to cry with a frustration. Carlos probably didn't see it in the dark but he slightly parked his ferrari into a sand. The Ferrari had so low floor that Naomi knew this will be another problem on a list.

Carlos cursed. Yes they definitely had a problem.

"I will have to call a tow truck for this, I'm not even going to try to drive it from the sand, that would destroy the car" Carlos sighed.

Carlos looked devasted. This night definitely wasn't going good for him.

"Max, can you drive Naomi back?" Carlos asked him.

"Yes" Max said.

"It is fine, I can wait with you for a tow truck" she said with a reassuring smile.

"No need, if I wasn't stupid this would not happen, go get some sleep please" Carlos said with pleading look.

Naomi wouldn't mind staying with him, but she knew it would made him upset if she would stay, because he would feel guilty.

She slowly walked to the Max's Valkyrie.
"Are you sure? I don't want to leave you there alone" Naomi tried to ask Carlos one more time.

"Yes, I will be back soon, we are in Spain and I'm spanish, so don't worry, I know people who will get me out of this" Carlos said and gave her reassuring smile.

Naomi got into Max's car. The interiour was phenomenal, she has never seen anything like that before. Even the seat belts were completely different from other cars.

Max magically started to remeber the way back. What a surprise. Naomi couldn't stay quiet any longer, she needed answers.

"Max, what is going on?" she asked him.

He didn't react, but Naomi decided to push him for answers.

"Max! I want to know what is going on!".

Max sharply stopped at the side of the road. He looked at her, he was silent for long seconds, when he finally opened his mounth to say something, he was interrupted by police sirens. Naomi saw police lights in a rearview mirror.
