I knew going back to Colleen's was the best decision for me. It was obviously my house. I didn't care what Colleen said. She may act like my dad didn't care about me. But she only moved into the house because she married my dad, not because it just automatically became hers. My dad is dead, and she's expecting me to get rid of his things but I don't know if I'll have the strength to do it. And how am I to do anything? How can Colleen expect me to want to get rid of his things? And of course, here Colleen is having everyone recoup back at her house where everyone is either eating or drinking.

I had arrived there, and I had pulled my ponytail out of my hair and I decided to let my hair fall down. And when I arrived, I had seen everyone in strange conversations and they were all looking around and most were in the sitting room, kitchen, gathering room or on the patio. Mom decided to show up in her Volkswagen that pulled up right behind mine. And of course, I had cried once I arrived back into my old house. And looking at it once I arrived, I had cried. I saw the familiar look of the walls. I haven't stepped foot in here since before my dad died.

I saw Colleen talking to Dave Del Rey about who knows what. They were drinking champagne together, and his wife was also joined into the conversation. Victoria and Matt were right beside me and they knew I was super upset and I had so much going on which is something that Colleen just doesn't understand about me. And mom had arrived, and Colleen was being so nice to mom, Dave had hugged mom because he knew mom back in the day before my dad and her married. Dave was my dad's Best Man in his and mom's wedding. And obviously, Dave started chatting with mom and it looked like a good thing.

Inside the sitting room, I witnessed Mandy sitting with Aaron, and they both looked awfully sad. And I actually couldn't control my emotions right now. They were everywhere. They were all over the place. I saw Christopher was out of the suit jacket, and he was wearing the dress pants and the white button down dress shirt. And I had seen Christopher off with Ty and he was obviously being so happy with him. How could Christopher be so happy with him when he's at a touching time when my dad died? And all I was doing was crying. And I had seen Christopher gaze right at me when he entered the room with Ty. Christopher and I gazed across the room at each other for the longest time, and I saw Ty look back and forth between us. I had walked in another direction, leaving. Christopher looked so disappointed.

"Hey Chris, you should talk to her." Ty suggested him, and Christopher was obviously not having it.

"No, she obviously doesn't exist anymore. She's not anybody. She's so vindictive." Christopher bit out, and the anger said in his voice hurt me more. "Remind me why I dated her?"

I heard Ty chuckle and he had just spoke the truth. "Because she's charming, beautiful, smart, funny, and unique. And she has good taste in old classic books."

I had left out of the room completely and I had accidentally bumped into Matt. I had been so shocked that I gasped from the impact, and Matt grabbed my wrist, and we both just gazed at each other for a whole minute, and I had to breathe. I had to stay focused and feel myself breathing. Matt saw how bad I was struggling.

"I'm sorry." I said to him, and I moved a piece of strand of my hair out of my face.

"It's fine. I wasn't watching." Matt said apologetically.

"Hey um... do you wanna maybe talk? Like somewhere private? Like my old bedroom?" I asked, trying to see his suggestion.

"Emma, I don't think that's a good idea." He shook his head.

"We're not doing anything. We're just talking. And I really don't want to be around these people." I said.

I saw how Matt was being. He looked at this, like it was wrong. He didn't want anyone to think that we were sneaking off. But it wasn't like that. I had headed for the stairs, and Matt had followed right up the stairs behind me. And I had walked all the way down the hall to the door that was my room and I opened it. And then I had entered inside, finding the room of my beautiful bed, and everything looking the same from the last time I was in here. And then of course, Matt took the room in and he entered inside, and I closed the door behind him.
