You stared at the last text Spencer had sent you, mouth open in shock.
- See you there, love.
No way he'd typed that, someone must've taken his cell. In what universe did this man call anyone love? Alex was next to you on your couch and noticed the look on your face. "What the hell's got you so shook?" You showed him your phone and he all but flew. "LOVE? He called you LOVE?! Give me the phone, lemme back read." Alex was now pacing as he read, then tossed the phone back. "Please tell me we're going to the bar and you weren't teasing him," he demanded. "Obviously we're going! I'm getting my free drink. Hurry, we gotta get moving!" You ran to your room to change out of your work clothes and into a nice pair of jeans, pairing them with your favorite shirt and a black zip up hoodie. Alex threw a pair of black converses at you to put on, then the two of you were running to the car. You were a better driver but Alex knew more short cuts, so he drove.
"Are you still in love with him?" Alex asked on the way. You were thinking about that as well. At this point there was no denying Spencer had a crush on you, but you were still confused about your own feelings. "I don't really know. I think so, but I also think I don't need to get into a relationship right now. I just got home. I need to settle in. You know?" He nodded. "I think you two need to talk. I don't mean tonight. You're going to be drinking. You need to have this conversation while sober. I'm giving you the next two days off, I want you to talk to him." You nodded, surprised to hear this from Alex of all people. He tended to rush into relationships, so you had no idea where any of this was coming from. "Y/N." You looked at him as he parked the car. "I'm not going to be able to join because I do have a hook up to get to, but call or text if you need me," he said. You nodded, then got out, waving as he left.
Spencer had definitely been watching the door, because he smiled and smoothly walked over as soon as you walked in. "I honestly wasn't expecting you to show up," he confessed. You smiled, letting him lead you to where the team was sat. "I'm not one to turn down a free drink," you replied. As soon as the team saw who he was with, they started cheering. Derek even let out a loud wolf whistle, flashing you a smile. "No wonder pretty boy has been so happy today," he said while Spencer pulled a chair over for you. "I tend to have that effect on people. Shame he asked me to come or I'd ask for your number," you replied with a playful wink. The entire team let out a collective "ooooo" and laughed. "It's good seeing you again," Penelope said. "I know! You guys should invite me more. I need to get out of the house, really. Actually, that reminds me. Where's Spencer, I was promised alcohol."
"Right here, I was getting you that alcohol. I told you I'd buy," he said, handing you a glass. "Thanks, pretty boy." You wanted to see how him (and everyone else) would react, and you weren't disappointed by the way his face turned bright red or how the team all made teasing sounds. Unable to hide his face, Spencer nodded and gave everyone the finger. "You know what, fuck all of you, I'm dancing," he said, surprising everyone even more by grabbing your hand and dragging you off into the crowd with him. You could hear them all cheering for him as you got further away.
"You're getting bold. First you call me love, then this?" You teased, swaying with the music. "Actually, how'd you get my number? I know I gave it to you months ago but I assumed you'd thrown it away." Spencer grinned awkwardly, blushing again. "Eidetic memory," he said. "Is it- were you okay with me calling you love? It was kind of spur of the moment." You smiled, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. "I loved it, pretty boy." He smiled again, putting his hands around your waist. "Y/N, is it okay if I kiss you?" He suddenly blurted.
