The case went by smoothly; they were flying back home just three days after taking it. The unsub had made a major mistake, which caused Morgan and Hotch to jump him in an alley, and he confessed soon after. Prentiss asked if anyone else wanted to go to the bar, but only Morgan and Garcia had time. Everyone else had to get home to something. Spencer found himself calling Y/N on the ride home. "What's up?" God, he loved her voice. "I'm on my way back. Fifteen minutes out. I guess I just wanted to see if you'd like to come over?" Please, please say yes. I want to see you. I miss you. He didn't say any of that out loud, afraid to be shut down. "I'll be waiting by your door when you get here."
She stayed true to her word. Spencer could see Y/N leaning against a wall reading as he got closer to home. Unable to contain himself, he jogged up the stairs. "Hello there." Y/N grinned. "General Kenobi." His face lit up. "You watch Star Wars!" He exclaimed. "Forced Alex to watch with me, actually. I love it."
"I am so utterly in love with you oh my god," he blurted, turning bright red. Y/N also blushed. "Sorry uh- forget I- forget I said that." Hiding his face, he opened his apartment and let Y/N in first. It was neat, as he had cleaned not too long ago. Y/N was looking around, a small smile on her face. "You know, I expected nothing less." Spencer tilted his head. What had she expected of his home? He decided to ask as he set his bag down and took off his shoes. "Well. Where do I start?" She said, then giggled. "What? What is it?" Y/N smiled at him. "I'm profiling a profiler." Reid also laughed, waving an arm to let her know to carry on.
"Alright. So. Lots of books, because you like to read. I don't see why you'd keep them because of your memory, unless you like to revisit them. Reliving the adventures. And you have classical music CD's... Oh hey, is this an ACDC? I'm surprised. I mean, they're my favorite, but I didn't expect you to like them." Spencer blushed under her gaze. "I bought it while you were gone. When I was organizing your apartment I played your music, and that made me think of you the most." She smiled at him. "That's really cute. Actually, that reminds me. We need to talk." They both sat on his couch. "Spencer, I know I like you. And I know you like me." He nodded, remembering what Prentiss said. Just be there for her. "You don't think you're ready for a relationship?" He guessed, letting out a breath when she nodded. "I think- know I want to date you. But not immediately. We should take it slow. Go on dates and such. Does that make sense?"
"Perfect sense, actually. In fact, I was wondering if- if it's alright with you- I could take you to dinner sometime? Not at the bar with the team, but to an actual restaurant. Just us." Y/N smiled, reaching over to tuck a stray hair behind his ear. "What do we do now?" Spencer asked softly, leaning into her touch. "Whatever you want."
"Honestly? I really just want to hold you..." Y/N smiled and leaned against him. "Then hold me as long as you want, pretty boy."
They fell asleep in each other's arms.
