You and Spencer quickly found peace in coexistence. after you had finished your surprise coffee and donuts, he'd pulled you closer and the two of you had read until you fell asleep. He fell asleep first, and you couldn't help but to observe the slow rise and fall of his chest. The way he had a soft smile in his sleep. He looked so happy, you could understand why he didn't want to wake you up to say goodbye. After a few minutes of watching him sleep, you felt yourself growing drowsy, so you gently took off his glasses and his book and set them on the nightstand, along with your own book. "Goodnight, Spence," you whispered, turning off the lamp and cuddling up against his chest.

The next morning when you woke up, Spencer was gone. You could hear the shower running though, so that was probably him. You got out of bed and went to the kitchen. You'd seen some eggs and bacon in his fridge, so you got those out, then started a pot of coffee. At some point while you were cooking Spencer had come into the kitchen and was just staring at you. "What?" He shook his head. "Nothing. Just didn't expect you to cook breakfast was all." You smiled and put the last of the bacon on a plate. "Consider it a thanks for the past couple days. It's been nice not falling asleep alone." He nodded, you could tell he agreed. "How do you like your eggs?"

After breakfast, the two of you decided to go on a walk. You had no destination in mind, you just wanted to get some fresh air together. The conversation flowed easily; Spencer had tons of funny stories to share from his times as a twelve year old in high school. Including one about how he somehow got bullied by a nine year old girl, which you decided you would never let him forget. You swapped stories about your parents, too. Apparently his mom was a schizophrenic, your dad was borderline. He asked about your mom, you told him she ran off, when you asked about his dd he had the same story. "We're like each other's exact opposite," you joked. "How so?"

"I've been to prison and you hunt criminals, I work a job to help people get through the day, your job can literally end someone's day. Your mom and my dad both have a mental disorder, and your dad and my mom ran off." Spencer laughed. "This brings up an interesting theory about soulmates that I read once," he said. You tilted your head and gently guided him to a bench in a park. The two of you sat and enjoyed the view for a second before he continued. You smiled when you noticed his voice switched to what you had lovingly dubbed the 'fact voice.' "According to Greek myths, humans were originally created with four arms and four legs. Zeus feared their power and split them in half, and they were condemned to spending the rest of their life searching for the other half."

You thought about what he said for a second. "Well, that's certainly one view on it," you said after a moment. "My theory is a little more scientific. You know how technically speaking everything always existed because matter can never be created nor destroyed?" He cocked an eyebrow, prompting you to continue. "Maybe some people are drawn to each other because their atoms were near each other when the universe what created, and over time the same atoms keep coming back together." Reid's mouth was hanging open. "What?" He swallowed. Licked his lips. "Spencer, you alright there buddy?" Let out a long breath. Swallowed again. "Spencer?"

"I think that was the most attractive thing I've ever heard anyone say."
