Elle Greenaway. God, where could he even start? Describing her? Sharing stories? "Spencer?" He looked up at Y/N. Y/N, who had never and would never meet Elle. "You don't have to tell me if it's a tough subject," she said gently. Spencer shook his head. "No it's not that it's tough. I just don't know where to start." Y/N put a hand on the table, face up. He smiled and covered it with his own. "Tell me about your favorite memory with her," she said. "Well... this one time, back when Gideon was still part of the team..."

Spencer and Elle, leaning against a car after a case. Gideon came over to check on her, and she'd called him dad. "Stop calling me dad," he'd said before walking off. Elle turned to Spencer. "How do you think he'd feel about mom?"
Elle, new to the team, asking why the footpath killer had a stutter.
Elle, describing an UnSub, only for her and Spencer to make eye contact as they realize she just described Reid. "And of course, he's a total psychopath," she said to clarify.
Elle telling him he can't get a date because he never asked anyone out.
Elle opening up to him after being shot.

Elle leaving because she couldn't handle the PTSD.

Elle, Elle, Elle.

"She was definitely my best friend," he said quietly. Y/N reached over and wiped a tear off his face; he hadn't notice he'd been crying. "Is there a way for you to see her again?" Y/N asked. Spencer shrugged. "It's been so long. I don't know how to find her. I don't know if she wants me to find her, I guess. I mean, there's a chance she could see me and be flooded with the memories and I couldn't do that to her. It's not uncommon in PTSD." He started crying again. "It's unfair, I miss my friend. I miss Elle." Y/N walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling his face into her torso. She was doing it because she knew Spencer hated when she saw him cry, and he didn't pull away because he knew she wanted to be there for him.

"It's going to be okay, Spence," Y/N whispered as he cried.
