Spencer was standing outside waiting when you clocked out of work. He never got home first, so you couldn't hide your smile. "Alex is going to see us," you said with a laugh. "I can make you an excuse. I wanted to see you." You smiled at him, then led him to your car. "How was work, Spence?" He laughed. "Hotch called me into his office. The others have been trying to figure out who has been making me smile so much," he said. "Really? Gee, I wonder who this mystery man or woman could be," you teased, giving his tie a playful tug. "You say you find a man attractive once and then nobody lets it go."

Both of you laughed, chatting the whole way home. When you parked, you grabbed on of his hands. It was something you didn't do often- he'd told you enough about the pathogens. "Hey. On a serious note, if you think we're ready to go public, that's okay. I'm willing to meet the team again. It would be fun to meet Rossi, too." Spencer leaned over and kissed your cheek. "Thank you. That means a lot."

The two of you entered his apartment. It had a mixed amount of your belongings and his. "We should get a bigger place," Spencer said, somewhat tentatively. You made a noise of surprise. "You mean a house? Like... get an actual house together? Can we afford that? I mean, I can barely make ends meet, Spence." He pursed his lips. "I can afford it. Why didn't you tell me that, I could've helped," Spencer said. You smiled at him. "I'm fine. Really. But... a house? Are we ready for that? Living together is a big step, Spencer."

He tilted his head. "It's okay if we stay here, it's just an idea. What would you prefer?" His willingness to give you control of this made you smile. Spencer was so considerate. "We can look at houses if you'd like." His face lit up and he did what you liked to call his flappy hands. "I'd love that."
