He woke up at 3:47 exactly. Y/N was still deep in REM sleep, he could tell. Her eyes were moving, indicating she was dreaming. Spencer forgot how peaceful she looked in her sleep. Even while dreaming, she had a small smile on her face. There was a small puddle of drool on the bed next to her face. He smiled to himself, then got out of the bed. For some reason he was wide awake, so he figured he could do some reading.

Spencer made his way into the kitchen, humming a song to himself as he made coffee. Knowing Y/N was comfortable enough to sleep with him around again made him happy. He liked existing at the same place and time as her; she was his candle in the dark. "Spence? Why are you awake?"

He spun around, hands going to his hip subconsciously. Right. He was with Y/N. His revolver was next door, in his apartment. She looked exhausted. Something else too. There was slight suspicion in her eyes. "I just woke up. I didn't wake you, did I?" She shook her head and shuffled over to him, not bothering to hide that she was searching his arms. "I'm clean," Spencer whispered, holding out his arms. "Look."

Y/N gingerly held one of his outstretched arms, a finger tracing the vein. The softness of her touch made the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Every nerve on his body was hyper-focused on her touch. "You're blushing," she mumbled, looking at his face. "This feels oddly intimate," he replied softly. His eyes stayed focused on where he was touching his arm. "I used to think of intimacy with you." Spencer felt his face get redder. "I screwed that up, huh? I'm sorry."

Her voice was soft when she responded. Almost inaudible. "I still love you. I'm just so scared." Spencer clenched his jaw at the crack in her voice. "I'm sorry." Y/N looked up at him, moved her hands to cup his cheeks. She wiped away a tear he hadn't realized he'd shed. "You're so apologetic. It's okay." Did she really believe that? "I mean, I'll probably never fully trust you again. But I love you. Okay?"

Y/N was always so kind to him. "I love you too," Spencer whispered, looking into her eyes. All he saw was love. They stood like that for no longer than thirty seconds, but to him it felt like hours. "I really want to kiss you right now but can't decide if l actually want to or if it's just because I'm tired," Y/N said.

"What if I choose for you?"

"I'm okay with that."

Spencer smiled and leaned down, closing the gap between them. His hands settled on her hips, holding her against him. It was their first kiss in months, both of them were desperate to get as much out of it as possible. Y/N's hands were in his hair, pulling him closer. "I missed you so much," she whispered between kisses. Tears were running down both of their cheeks. Spencer picked her up and sat her on a counter, standing between her knees. "I missed you too," he said into her mouth. He kissed her lips one last time then moved down, his mouth trailing from her jaw to the edge of her shirt. There was a question in his eyes when he pulled away. "Y/N..."

"Spencer, please."
