You thought about what Spencer had said. He was at work. Still in state- they didn't have a new case today. He was willing to have kids. Of course, if you had kids, you wanted to get married first. Marriage. A year ago, it was out of the question. The idea of it made you uncomfortable. But now, thinking of it with Spencer, you were just fine with it. Being with him had had ups and downs, but since you became official, it was the greatest part of your life.

Spencer called you, pulling you from your thoughts. "Hey Spence. What's up?" You heard him exhale. "We're heading to Texas. I'll call you when we land, okay? Just wanted to let you know." Oh. If you were correct, you had family in Texas. Hopefully it wasn't related to them. "Thanks for letting me know. Stay safe, alright?" He was silent. Just as you started to wonder if he hung up, he responded. "I will." Something in his voice tipped you off. "Hey, you alright?" Spencer hesitated before answering. "I'm just thinking about last night. Can we talk about it when I get back?" 

"Of course. Go save some lives. I love you," you said. He responded to someone on his end before you. "I will. Love you too, Y/N." After he hung up, you got to work packing. The two of you hadn't found a house yet, but you had agreed to pack everything that wasn't a living essential to make it easier when you did. Of course, like Spencer, the previous night's conversation was stuck in your head. You couldn't focus on packing, so you gave up and went to sleep. He called you while you slept, but it didn't wake you up. It slipped your mind to call him back the entire time he was gone. Not purposely, you were just busy packing the apartments. It was Spencer that called you. "Hey, Spence. How's the case?"

"We're back." His voice was soft. "You okay?" He didn't respond. "Can you come to headquarters?" You raised your eyebrows. "Are you sure? I thought-"

"Y/N. Please."

"Be there in thirty."
