Falling asleep in your neighbor's arms was quickly becoming your favorite thing. His embrace was warm and comforting. It made you feel safe, and not just because he was FBI. Honestly, the fact that he was FBI used to make you feel less safe. You'd felt like you needed to behave. Well, that, and the fact that he used to hate you. Spencer Reid was an enigma. He had a beautiful mind, you thought. Of course, he was an acquired taste. One you absolutely had. Last night's conversation had been surprisingly easy; you'd expected more struggling. Yet he knew exactly what you were going to say. You looked at the sleeping man beside you. There was a small line of drool on the side of his mouth, and his glasses were slightly crooked. His hair was ruffled, as was his shirt.
"Good morning sleepy-head," you whispered, watching him slowly open his eyes. Watching him wake up was a process, and one you quite enjoyed. His eyes slowly opened, then he lifted his arms to stretch, letting out a low groan that made your knees turn to jelly. Part of his torso was exposed, and you couldn't help but sneak a peak. He was fit. Not too skinny, not too much muscle. The perfectly average body. It was somehow more attractive than if he'd had abs. He stretched his neck up, exposing his jawline. Sharp, and peppered with some stubble. He was the most beautiful man you had ever seen.
He caught you staring and smirked. "See something you like?" Holy shit. His morning voice was hot as fuck. It was low and raspy and- hang on a second, what did he just say? You turned bright red. "You- You're bold in the morning." He shrugged. "I'm too tired to be anxious. What time is it?" Still bright red, you reached for his wrist to check his watch, making it face him. Somehow the two of you had woken up at five thirty. Not shocking for you, honestly, you were an early riser because of work. "Do you have to go to work today? I don't want you to go." You spoke softly. You could rain outside, and it made you want to stay in with him all day. He gave you a look that answered your question. "I don't want to go either. If you let me take a quick shower, I promise I'll spend every second before then with you. Okay?" Spencer was looking at you in a way that showed just how much he regretted having to work. "I'll be right back. I promise." He stood up and went to go shower. You wanted to join him, just to spend time together, but it was entirely too soon. Despite your best efforts, you felt yourself slipping back into unconsciousness.
The next time you woke up, you were tucked into a bed. It wasn't yours, the smell was too off. It smelled like old books. And something minty, too. You opened your eyes to see a piece of paper next to you.
Y/N,
I know you wanted to spend time together, but you looked so happy and peaceful that I couldn't bear to wake you. I moved you to my bed, I hope that's okay. There's some old clothes on top of my dresser if you'd like to shower, and feel free to help yourself to anything in the fridge. Today should be just paperwork, but I'll call and let you know if I have to go anywhere for a case. I'll see you tonight. (Hopefully.)
Take care,
Spencer
P.S. you mumbled in your sleep. it was... cute.
His handwriting was neater than you expected. He probably practiced to make it nice. You sat up and looked at the clothes he left out for you, and decided to shower. At the very least, you wanted to be clean. The fact that he had tucked you into his bed and left a note made you smile. It showed that he really did care. As you showered, you thought more about him. You definitely made a good choice in letting him into your life. He was kind, and gentle with you. He made you feel loved.
The clothes he left out for you were an old Caltech sweatshirt and some sweatpants. You were honestly shocked he owned sweats, and even more surprised they fit. Well. They were a little big. But other than that, it was perfect. You found a fruit bowl in the fridge and ate half of if, then picked out a book and started to read. He was nice enough to let you stay here all day and you were going to take it.
