Spencer let you know that he was going to take a quick shower, so you took some time to strip the bed. You knew he had a thing about germs, so he would probably like the sheets being changed. He'd looked anxious before we left. There was a chance he was nervous about how you had felt. In truth, it was the best sex you'd had. The way he'd told you he loved you and would always be there for you made you feel something nobody else had every made you feel before. Most men you'd slept with just used it to get off then left. Spencer was different. He was obviously not as confident as other guys, but he made up for it in effort and affection. Spencer made sure you felt loved during sex.
"You want some help with that?" You jumped; you hadn't heard him walk back in. "You jackass, you scared me," you said, letting him help you put the new sheet on the bed. "So... that talk?" Spencer was looking at you, questions filling his eyes. "We just had interc- sex. We just had sex. I think we need to get things sorted," he said. "Of course."
The two of you sat in the kitchen, each holding a cup of tea. You didn't know where to start, honestly. This was a complicated situation. Or maybe it wasn't, but it felt like one. What with your history and all. "We both like each other." Spencer nodded his agreement. "We've come close to dating before. I mean, we were in relationship limbo I guess. Sleeping in each other's beds and all..." you sighed and Spencer took a small sip of tea. "I would be willing to try an official relationship with you," you said. "My job might spoil it. I travel so much. Are you sure?"
"Spencer, I'd really like to be with you. If that means you'll be out of the house sporadically, that's okay." You spoke clearly, putting emphasis on each word. You wanted him to know that you understood his job had challenges. "I'll always be right here when you come back." Spencer nodded, reaching out over the table. You grasped his hand. "It's like you said, I'm here for you," you told him gently. "I love you."
He nodded. "I love you too." His gaze was distant. You could practically hear the gears in his head turning. "Stop thinking, just be." His brows furrowed. "Well technically you can't stop thinking, there's always going to be something on my mind, even if I don't realize it. You have a conscious and... I'm rambling, aren't?" He puffed his cheeks up then released the air. "I think it's interesting. I love hearing you ramble. You should tell me more, Spence."
He smiled, still embarrassed. "I mean it depends on what you want to know," he said. "Tell me anything." So he did.
