Caught In The Middle
In which you'd rather burn than choose a side...~<<<()>>>~...
Fire.
It eats
And eats
And eats
Fuelled by oxygen
And destructionThough in comparison to (y/n)'s rage it was a mere candle.
She could hear the crackling of flames, the felling of trees as the fire ripped through the forests that surrounded her home. She didn't have much time until the fire claimed her home in its trail of ruin. Hurriedly she began to shove things in her bag, darting around her home to grab essential things, things that she couldn't replace in the flames.
She could hear screams in the distance, calls to bring more water, cries for help and fear. That was the thing about living alone, in a solitude life none of those cries would be for her.
Above the roar of the fire she could hear the galloping of hooves, she strode out her house and crossed her arms as a familiar, unwelcome face, stopped by, "shit I may have gone a bit overboard, you need to get out of here," Sapnap warned, panic clear on his face, she wondered if he was more scared of the fire or what she'd do for payback. (y/n) crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, she wasn't dumb, this wasn't a campfire that had gone horrible wrong. This was a terroristic ploy by Dream to try and smoke out Tommy Innit, Wilbur Soot and the other L'Manburg cronies.
"yeah, no shit dumbass," (y/n) snapped as she gestured towards the glow of the fire in the trees. Sapnap flinched at the venom in her voice as he discreetly checked if she was reaching for any weapons, he breathed a sigh of relief when he realised that she was mad but not mad enough to slaughter him.... Maybe.
"Look I only came as a courtesy, Dream also thinks it isn't fair you got caught up in the madness," Sapnap apologised but you could see it in his eyes, he wasn't sympathetic at all, not even an ounce, he was only sorry that the arson backfired.
She wanted to throw a sword at his face, the small cottage, the home she had dedicated days to build was all about to be destroyed, "just do yourself a favour and fuck off Sapnap, I'll get myself out of the mess you created," she huffed.
Sapnap turned his horse around, "Dream is prepared to compensate-
"I don't care what Dream wants to do!" She yelled at him, it wouldn't be compensation, not really, it'd be a debt to Dream. This fire was caused for one reason, to deal with the rogues, L'Manburg who wanted independence and her who wanted nothing to do with anyone outside of business. In other words it would be a cold day in hell before she even considered asking Dream for help. "for such a mastermind, he clearly didn't account for this fuck up, now I basically gotta get anything important and get out of here and the longer I spend talking you, the less I can take," (y/n) grumbled as she turned away from him and walked inside.
(Y/n) finished grabbing the necessities, clothes, food, money, weapons and any other valuables that were going to be difficult to replace. She then grabbed one of the many potions that she simply would not be able to carry. Fire resistance.
And with everything she needed she walked through fire and flame to a large clearing the fire would not be able to burn. She pitched a tent, it was a lot further into the forest and if the forest didn't completely burn down it would be a nice spot for her next house, far away from the Dream SMP and L'Manburg and whatever chaos they tried to drag her into, yet people could still visit and buy potions.
Once the tent was pitched she put some torches out, any mobs that would flee from fire should at least stay away from her tent now. She closed her eyes as she listened to the crackling of the flames, the roaring of the fire and the faint voices on the wind.
