Your POV
After making dinner, I sat down with my dad and we began eating, discussing our days and what not.
"So, did you review the indoor battles yet?" I asked him.
"Yeah," he replied, taking another bite of his gunkanmaki. "I heard from All Might that you really took charge of your team. Nice job."
I smiled slightly, muttering a thank you. My face became serious as I spoke up, "Hey, can I ask a favor of you?" He gave me a curious look, but nodded, nonetheless. "Can you not be too harsh on Bakugo tomorrow? I know that he let his personal grudges and pride get in the way, but I talked to him after class about it. I think I really got through to him."
A look of surprise flashed across his face before it returned to its normal expression. He gave a nod and replied, "Okay. I am still his teacher though, critiquing my students is my job."
"I know," I said, "I just feel kinda bad, I was a little harsh on him."
"What did you say?" He asked, not looking up from his food.
"Well... I indirectly told him to stop being so self-centered and to get over himself," I mumbled, a slightly distraught look on my face.
"Hm...," my dad hummed in thought. He set his chopsticks down and looked me in the eyes, "You've always been blunt with your words, you get that from me. But being realistic isn't a bad thing." He pauses slightly before a small smile grows on his face, "But you're also good at reading people. You know just what to say to encourage them. Honestly, I'm not quite sure where you get it from... Don't feel bad for trying to help people grow Y/N. You've got a gift for teaching and encouraging others. Use it."
I let out a puff of air and smiled gratefully at my father. He always knew what to say to me to make me feel better. In all honesty, I think I get my encouraging nature from him. Nobody else might see it, not even him, but I do.
The next morning...
I woke up early, about 5:30. Walking to school would take about 30 minutes, so I had to leave soon to get there on time to train. I quickly threw on my casual workout clothes and put my uniform into my school bag, along with all my school supplies. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle and left a note on the counter, reminding my dad that I had left early to train.
The walk was pretty uneventful, that was until I reached the school. Although it was only 6:25 in the morning, a large group of reports stood outside the school. A quizzical look crossed my face, wondering why they were standing outside the school at this hour.
"What are reporters doing here?" A voice suddenly asked from beside me.
I turned my head to see that Midoriya had come up on my right and was also looking at the crowd with a questioning look on his face.
"I'm not sure..." I trailed off before leading us closer to the school gates. We were at the front of the crowd, about to walk through the entrance to the campus, but were stopped by a woman who shoved a microphone in our faces.
"Hey, you! Can you tell us what it's like to work so closely with All Might?" The well-dressed woman asked.
Midoriya, who seemed flustered by the cameras and attention, began stuttering out a response before I butted in, "Sorry, we actually have somewhere to be." I quickly grabbed Midoriya's wrist and pulled him towards the building. We made it inside and entered one of the training rooms in the massive school.
"Guess they were only here to ask about All Might teaching," Midoriya muttered.
"Yeah," I sighed. I now understand why my dad didn't do much work with the media. "Whatever, as long as they stay off school grounds, I couldn't care less. Anyways, let's get started. Why don't you explain to me what you already know about your quirk."
