Third Person POV

The girl laid limply on the ground, a few locks of hair falling over her face. She had various wounds on her body that were slowly bleeding onto the ground. From where Bakugo, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Deku were standing, they couldn't tell if she was breathing or not. On pure instinct, Bakugo ran to the girl. He dropped to his knees beside her, placing a hand against her neck and feeling for a pulse. He let out a sigh of relief as a slow, but steady beat thumped against his hand. Then, he noticed the short rise and fall of her chest. She was breathing.

He swept the locks out of her face, hand lingering slightly longer than it should have. He scooped the girl into his arms and carried her unconscious body back to the group. He was holding her tightly, and close to his chest. The three boys turned to Bakugo, peering at him with worried eyes. Silently asking if Y/N was okay.

"She's breathing," he responded, uncharacteristically calm.

"She doesn't look too good...," Kirishima trailed off, observing the bruises, scrapes, and deeper cuts.

None of them said anything in response. They all knew she needed a doctor ASAP. But there really wasn't much they could do right now besides protect her from further injuries.

A group of villains approached the students making Kirishima, Bakugo, and Todoroki tense. They were prepared for a fight.

"I think All Might can hold his own against those two main guys. Let's make sure these dudes don't hurt anybody else," Kirishima said, activating his quirk.

Bakugo glanced down at the unconscious girl in his arms. Although he loved the fighting part of being a hero, his first priority was to protect the vulnerable girl. Besides, he was blaming himself for her current condition. If he didn't need saving, she wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

Todoroki had said something to Midoriya, but Bakugo didn't quite catch it. He was a bit preoccupied, trying to watch the villains and make sure they didn't get anywhere near the girl in his arms.

Before the villains could advance on the students, a gunshot fired. The boys turned and saw that it was Snipe who had shot Shigaraki in the hand. The other teachers followed behind him, making the kids let out sighs of relief.

"Sorry everyone. I know we're a bit late. But I got the teachers over here as fast as I could," Nezu said. The villains began attacking, but the teachers easily beat the remaining villains.

Unfortunately, before they could capture Kurogiri and Shigaraki, they escaped. However, some of the villains had been captured.

When Hizashi caught sight of the limp girl in Bakugo's arms, he rushed over. "What happened? How bad are her injuries?" He asked the ash blond.

Bakugo blinked the shock away before answering, "She got herself thrown into a wall by this big ass bird villain." Hizashi quickly reached out to take the girl from Bakugo's hands, but Bakugo only pulled her in tighter. Hizashi gave him a quizzical look, asking what the teenager was doing. "She got hurt saving me. And I hate owing people favors," he scowled.

A lie of course. He felt guilty that she had been injured because of him. In truth, he didn't really think he could ever repay her. Normally, Bakugo didn't think he owed anyone anything. But this girl had saved his life, and he intended to at least try to show he was grateful.

Outside the USJ...

The detective was counting the students, making sure they had gotten out relatively unharmed.

"16, 17, 18, 19," he counted, "Everyone seems to be unharmed except for that boy whose legs were all messed up and the unconscious girl." Bakugo tensed at the mention of Y/N. He was still a bit shaken from the experience. "Let's go ahead and get these students back to the main campus. They've been through a lot. We don't need to question them right away."
