Your POV

A few hours later, it had begun to rain. Izuku and I were perched on a building under an overhang to stay dry. It was raining pretty heavily, but the sound and the visual was pretty soothing.

It was silent besides the rain until there was a sudden shouting. I bolted to my feet, looking down at the city below.

"There she is! The monster!"

"Please! Don't hurt me!"

I could see three men with what seemed to be support items, threatening an anthropomorphic woman. She seemed terrified. One of the men pointed their illegal gear at her and fired blasts of water at her, knocking her back as she tried to reason with them.

"Please! I'm just heading to the shelter! I wasn't doing anything!"

She fell back onto the ground, her arms raised in front of her face in protection. I narrowed my eyes in anger at the men. This woman was obviously harmless and scared. "I'm begging you! Let me go!"

Looking over at Izuku, I pulled up my mask and my hood, whispering, "Let's go."

As we made our way down to the street, I could hear the men yelling at her.

"You want us to let our guard down so you can attack."

"We're not stupid. We see you for what you are."

"And we're not going to let this town suffer another day!"

The guy with the blaster started to charge it up and the woman screamed in fear, "No stop!"

I landed in front of her just in time, activating my plasma shield to block the hit. It wasn't too powerful, but enough that it would've injured this woman had it hit her.

Not trusting myself to be kind to these men, I nodded over at Izuku as I dropped the glowing purple barrier. "Listen. Pease clam down," he said firmly. The guys tensed, making me stand protectively in from of the anthropomorph. "I totally understand that a night like this makes you extra nervous about an attack. But look at this woman. She's showing no signs of hostility."

"Go," I said firmly, almost threateningly, "We can handle this." The men stared me down for a moment as I stared back, my hard stare unwavering. After a second, they lowered their weapons.

They were about to leave, but not without the last word, "Well... Someone who looks like that shouldn't be out this late."

"What were we supposed to think?"

All three of them ran off, more like scurried.

I dropped my glare and turned to the woman, kneeling beside her as she cried. I put my hand above us and made a small dome that stopped the rain that was pelting us. Noticing the lack of rain, she looked up. After seeing the purple energy, she turned to me, her eyes wide with a sort of awe. Then, Izuku held out her umbrella, the same gaze turned towards him now.

"You're safe now," he said. She sniffled and took the umbrella, wiping her eyes. I helped her to her feet before stepping closer to Izuku. "Why are you walking around in this weather?"

"I didn't evacuate," she replied, her voice still a little shaky from crying, "At first, it seemed like the area wasn't affected much. I guess... I thought everything would blow over if I holed up at home. Then..." She paused for a moment as she tried not to cry, "people around me started getting hurt and I got scared. That's when I decided to leave. To find a shelter." She dropped her umbrella as she wiped her eyes, crying once again. I grabbed it and passed it to Izuku, making a large dome over all three of us as I held up my hand. "I don't know. The night just went wrong so fast."
