I shoot up with a gasp. "What happened? Did we win?" Those are the first words out of my mouth. I look over, seeing Hizashi and my dad at my bedside. I'm in the hospital it looks like.
"Woah, calm down," my dad says, placing his hands on my shoulders and guiding me to sit back against the headboard.
"Is everyone okay?" I ask him, urgently.
"Everyone's fine," he assures me. "Your classmates are okay."
"And- and Izuku and Katsuki? How about them?"
"Their recovery is going to take a while, just like yours," Hizashi answers. "But they'll be okay."
I let out a breath, "Okay, good."
I lean back against the headboard, letting everything come back to me. The fight, and how it ended resurfaces in my mind. My lip begins to quiver, a few tears slipping down my cheeks.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Hizashi asks, reaching out to place his hand on mine.
I sniffle, wiping my tears. "Sorry," I say, voice cracking slightly. "I feel like I shouldn't be crying over a villain, but..."
"No," my dad says firmly, wiping away a tear. "That's what makes you who you are, Y/N. Don't ever stop having sympathy for those people."
I nod, sniffling again. "It's just, Shigaraki... No, his name was Tenko and he wasn't evil. It wasn't his fault that he was that way."
"What do you mean?" My dad asks.
I look up at them, "Izuku and I learned a lot when we were inside his mind. There's so much to fill you in on."
"Before you do," Hizashi speaks. "Let's have the doc come check on you, alright?"
"Yeah, okay," I breathe. Hizashi stands and heads out of the room to find the doctor. I turn to my dad who's still looking at me with a look I'd never seen. It's something akin to pride, but there's something else behind it too. "What?"
"Nothing, I'm just..." he pauses, reaching out to brush my hair out of my face with a smile, "I'm real proud of you, kid. You're gonna be the best hero the world's ever seen."
I lean into his touch, a small smile growing on my face. "Thanks, Dad," I murmur. "So... when can I see everyone?"
"Well, if the doctor says you can, then I'll take you," he says. "They've all been asking about you anyway."
"Have they?" I ask, head tilting slightly. "How long was I out?"
"A week," he answers.
My eyes widen in shock, "A whole week?!"
"Honestly, I'm a little surprised you're as okay as you are right now," he replies.
My brows furrow, "Why? What happened?"
He opens his mouth to answer, but is cut off by the doctor, a younger man with purple hair and bright green eyes, and Hizashi returning. They step inside, and the doctor's eyes widen slightly, but he quickly composes himself. "Good to see you awake. How are you feeling?"
"Like I got the crap beat out of me," I answer simply.
He nods, "Yeah, well, that makes sense. Let me do a quick examination on you, and I'll use my quirk if you don't mind."
"Oh, uh, sure," I shrug.
He had me lie flat on my back, his hands hovering over my body and projecting an X-ray image above me. "Incredible. Really incredible," he says after a few moments. "Her vitals are completely normal."
