Without giving Athanasia time to prepare herself, Lucas went to swoop Athanasia from the chair, carrying her in a bridal style.
She automatically put her arms around his neck. But when he wobbled forward a little after taking the first step, she clung to him even more.
"Don't choke me," he said.
Ameliorated her grip as he told, Athanasia demanded, "Put me down...!"
"Why?"
"What do you mean why?! You shouldn't be even moving!"
"Not this again," he groaned. "I need to exercise you know. I don't want to walk around with a pair of jello legs."
"That is exactly why you shouldn't be moving..! What if you trip and fall?"
"Then I would be falling for-"
Athanasia clasped her hand on his mouth. "Enough pick-up line for today...!" She yelled. "You're too energetic for someone who just woke up from a coma!"
Lucas shook his head in an attempt to remove her hand.
"You're too light for someone who is this energetic," he said, heaving her higher so he could carry her properly. "Did you lose weight? You feel lighter."
"Don't brag when you might fall any second now!"
How dare she judge him like that? Lucas' brows wrinkled. He was offended.
"I am not that pathetic," he grumbled and started walking. "And if you complain about my stamina again, you might regret it later."
"What?"
"What what?"
"What about you and your stamina?"
"You know what I meant."
"I don't."
Lucas facepalmed himself invisibly. He was about to sing her a song of the sinner, but then Lucas decided to have mercy on her.
And he definitely would not want to deal with her throwing another fist or two again.
"Forget it," he mumbled. "I will just show you later..."
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Then put me down."
"No."
"Why are you so stubborn?"
"Why are you so pretty?"
Athanasia flinched. Camouflaging her blush, she ducked down and buried her face in his chest.
"That is so irrelevant, you overgrown pup," she grumbled lowly.
That's one way to shut you up. Lucas chuckled as he walked ahead, slowly toward the bed.
Carefully, he lowered her down and he would sit on the mattress, one leg still on the tiles. While Athanasia would go to the other side of the bed, making space for him.
Though he never lay down.
"Then let us take a walk together after this," he suggested.
"You're not going anywhere! The doctor is going to check up on you!"
"Cancel the appointment. I'm perfectly fine."
"Say that to your fifteen stitches!"
"Kiss me and that will make it better without needing a doctor," said Lucas as he winked at his girlfriend.
"No."
"Guess I will never recover then," he laughed before dropping the other foot on the tiles.
Athanasia sat up, looking at him. You're not coming back to bed? She asked through her eyes.
