Jungkook rushed down the stairs, his bare feet brushing lightly against the polished wooden steps. The soft cotton of his robe fluttered around his legs as he moved quickly, strands of his silky black hair sticking slightly to his forehead from the warmth of the morning. The scent of food lingered in the air-boiled vegetables, light spices and something sweet baking in the oven. But his mind wasn't on breakfast.

He was searching for his baby.

As soon as he reached the dining room, his eyes scanned the space and then landed on the scene before him.

There seated calmly on Mrs Kim's lap at the dining table was his baby . Dressed in a soft grey t-shirt that had little clouds printed near the collar and black cotton shorts that barely reached his knees, the baby looked like a tiny prince. A pale bib was tied around his chubby neck, oversized for his small frame but adorable all the same.

Jungkook's lips parted softly, his heart tightening at the sight.

His bubba looked like a perfect little dumpling today.

The baby wasn't eating anything, of course. He just sat there, happily poking at the food on his small plate, smearing mashed bits across the table with his little fingers. He wasn't hungry but still, Ha-rin made him wear a bib because, well... everyone in this house knew how much of a messy eater he was. Just like his father.

Jungkook smiled to himself, warmth blooming in his chest.

Even though his baby was turning one tomorrow, he still didn't eat anything other than his mumma's milk. Not a single spoon of mashed rice or boiled potatoes had ever made it into his mouth without a tantrum. He would cry, push the spoon away or bury his face into Jungkook's chest until he got what he wanted---milk. Only milk.

"Good morning eomma. Morning Jinnie," Jungkook greeted as he entered the dining room with a soft smile playing on his lips. Jungkook had just washed his face, his cheeks still fresh and slightly damp from the quick rinse. In his rush to find his baby he hadn't bothered to change... still clad in his soft nighty. The cream-colored fabric was light and airy, dotted with tiny blue flowers and delicate frills along the shoulders. A small satin bow rested at the neckline giving him an effortlessly gentle and homely look. The dress fell loosely to his knees, swaying softly with each step he took and made him look even more tender in the warm morning light.

He took a seat next to Ha-rin, settling in gently.

The soft murmur of Jungkook's voice drifted through the quiet space, instantly catching the attention of the little fluff ball who had been distracted moments ago. The spoon that had just moments earlier captured his interest now lay forgotten on the table as the baby's head snapped towards the source of the familiar sound.

"Mumma! Mumma!" The baby chirped with sparkling eyes, arms shooting up in the air as he made grabby hands towards Jungkook. His tiny legs kicked excitedly as he sat on his granny's lap, trying to wriggle free.
