It was a warm afternoon when Ha-rin and Ye-Jun set off for Park Mansion. They were heading there to respond to Jiwoo’s marriage proposal. If it had been a stranger making the request, it would have been easy to decline. But Jiwoo was Ye-Jun’s stepsister, someone he loved dearly, and that made the situation much more complicated.
Fortunately, Ye-Jun didn’t have to face this challenge alone. His wife, Ha-rin, was by his side, providing the emotional support he needed. This reassurance calmed Ye-Jun’s nerves; he felt grateful for her presence.
As they settled into the back seat of the car, Ye-Jun gazed out the window, lost in thought. Ha-rin gently took his right hand, drawing his attention back to her.
“Don’t worry, honey. Everything will be alright. Jiwoo will understand us,” Harin said softly, her voice soothing.
“I hope so,” Ye-Jun replied, still feeling a knot of tension in his stomach. He knew Jiwoo well; she could be quite stubborn, and he was unsure how she would react to their answer.
The rest of the ride passed in comfortable silence, with both of them enjoying each other’s company and the quiet moments together.
After thirty minutes, they arrived at Park Mansion.
They stepped out of the car, asking the driver to wait for them. The driver nodded and went off to park.
Ye-Jun and Ha-rin walked into the mansion, heading directly to the living room. A maid, who was busy cleaning a flower vase, noticed them and quickly bowed.
