Chapter Sixteen
The Q Word
Season 2 Finale

The following chapters will be a combination of the last 2 episodes of season 2

**
The rookies were almost at the finish line they had exactly 4 weeks until they were officially done with being Rookies. Lucy, Jackson, and Nolan were all at the bar with their friends from the academy. Addison was invited but she decided to stay home.

Addison had spent her night surfing until it got dark. She didn't feel like going out drinking. Plus she hasn't stopped thinking about Tim. Ever since her last shift with him she couldn't help but think about how he made her feel.

*
Addison was dressed in uniform as she walked into the briefing room. She greeted her friends before sitting down.

Sergeant Grey stood in front of them "Today is our rookies' one-year mark in the F.T.O. program. Congratulations on not washing out." He says as everyone starts to applaud.

Tim scoffs "Not yet" he says.

"That also means today is the start of your Thirty Day Push. Why is that important, Officer Nolan?" Grey says ignoring Tim.

Nolan looks stumbled as he tries to figure out the appropriate answer.

"because in one month, we will no longer be probationary employees, but fully fledged patrol officers of the LAPD?" He questions. Addy lets out a small smirk.

Grey shakes his head and continues "Because, as your T.O.s have pointed out, you are not there yet. The end of the race is always the hardest. The Push is to remind you not to celebrate until you cross the finish line. Understand?"  He asks.

The rookies shake their heads in unison "Yes, sir." They say.

Grey nods  "Good. And...that's all I got. For the first time in history, the night shift did their jobs -- left no open cases that require follow-up. So, go on, find some crime. And be safe out there."

**

It had been a relatively quiet morning. Tim had kept conversation with Addy to a minimal. He was too busy wrapped up in his own thoughts. He couldn't stop thinking about her. From her big brown eyes, to her plump lips, to the small space in between her teeth. He loved everything about her. But, he would never confess his feelings for his rookie.

Meanwhile Addison was over thinking she felt like Tim was back to square one with her. As if the friendship, and respect they built never happened.

Dispatch came through the radio knocking the both out of their thoughts "Wilshire units, information only. Hollywood division is in pursuit after a shots fired call. Event 8-0-5 working on channel 4. Information only."Addison turns the volume up as they continue to listen.

"Uh, gr-gray Maserati, no plates. Suspect vehicle is picking up speed. Uh, we are southbound on Normandie, 50 miles an hour. We got moderate traffic." A panicked voice came through. Addison furrowed her eyebrows together as she recognized the familiar voice.

Tim looks over at her "It's Rios, we all went to the academy together" she says.

"He sounds too amped up" Tim says grabbing the radio from Addison "Control, 7-Adam-19, attach. Code 3." He says and turns his sirens on.

Once they had arrived on the scene Rios had been loaded into the ambulance as he suffered two gun shot wounds to the chest. His status was unknown.

Tim gives orders to Addison to start canvassing the area, while he talked to the other officers. Addison couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness in her chest as she thought about Rios. She had hoped he would be okay.

She had secured the scene after a short amount of time. She held the crime scene tape in hand as she walked over to Tim.

Tim looked at her with anger on his features "Okay scenes secure" she tells him.

He looks at the tape in her hands "What the hell are you doing? You holding something in your right hand? Your gun hand? How many times I gotta tell you to keep your gun hand free at all times?" He tells her.

Addison looks down and nods her head aware of her mistake "I'm sorry" she says.

Tim continues to his rang as he's still visibly angry. "You've been on this job a whole year, and you're still making the same dumb mistakes you've been making since day one. You want to end up like Rios?" He says.

Addison feels anxiety creep in her chest as she gets upset with how Tim was talking to her.

"Can you just relax?" She tells him. She looks around feeling embarrassed as others could hear the dispute.

"I'll talk to you however the hell I want to so you don't end up eating through a tube the rest of your life. You got that? " he asks her.

Addison doesn't say anything as she begins to feel angry herself. "Let's go, Boot."

*
Addison didn't say two words to Tim. She was upset that he talked to her like that especially in front of other officers. She felt like this was day one all over again. But, if Addison was anything she wasn't going to deal with his bullshit any longer.

They had gotten a name on the suspect that had shot Officer Rios, Serj Darian. A dangerous mob man.

Addison and Tim are currently at Serjs brothers house after an unsuccessful raid. Addy was looking at paper work that was sitting on the desk.

"I got something" Addison points out as she looks over the multiple police reports that was on the desk. Tim stands behind her his breath was felt on Addison's exposed neck making that same feeling return to her chest.

"His name's all over these. Someone inside the department has been feeding intel to the Armenian mob." Tim says.

Addison looks up a Tim "A dirty cop" she says.

**
The day was becoming a mess, Rios was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officer Nolan had 'lost' the murder weapon, and there was a dirty cop involved. Addison was tired she knew they were most likely going to be working a 24 hour shift until this was resolved.

Each officer had to turn in their body cameras so Angela could look through all the footage. Only a few officers knew of a dirty cop being involved. Angela, Tim, and Addison.

When Angela found the missing footage of rookie Erin Cole, an immediate red flag was sounded. The raid was going to be begin.
