Addison stood in front of the mirror, brushing her hair back as she admired her reflection. At eight months pregnant, her body had changed in ways she could never have imagined, but there was something beautiful about the roundness of her belly that filled her with joy. Today was Valentine's Day, a day she and Tim had always cherished, but this year felt different. This year, it marked not only a celebration of love but also the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Tim had told her to stay put when he left for work that morning. He'd insisted on making breakfast, a rare occasion in their busy lives. Especially as Tim was now working in Metro. They both were so busy with work.
The warmth of the sun streamed through the window, and a soft breeze drifted in, making the flowers Tim had surprised her with earlier sway in the vase. They were a vibrant mix of red roses and white lilies, the deep colors contrasting beautifully against the delicate petals. The box of chocolates sat temptingly on the table "This is for later" she says to herself.
Addy was in the final stretches for work she had promised to complete about two more weeks of work before she would start maternity leave. Tim had wanted Addy to stay at the station for those last two weeks. The less stress the better.
Once Addy got to the station she had found Tim in the briefing room. He looks over at her and smiles "Hey, did you like the flowers I sent you?" He asks her. Addy nods her head "Thank you, It was so nice. I'll show you, your present later" she says with a suggestive smile followed by a wink.
Tim smirks and watches as she sits down. Even at 8 months pregnant Addy was incredibly beautiful to him. Sergeant Grey comes into the room as he stands behind the podium ready to brief everyone. "Finally. I'll get right to it. This is Detective Foster with Victorville P.D. He's been undercover for the last three months. Get a good look. If you see him in the field, pretend like you don't know him, but he is one of us. That being said, Detective." He says motioning to Detective Foster on the side of him "I've been working a group called 'The Army of Freedom.' Wannabe militia tough guys who are becoming increasingly active. Yesterday, I caught wind of a new operation." He explains as everyone listens.
Nolan raises his hand "Is it some kind of an attack?" He asks. Foster shrugs his shoulders "Possibly. But what I did overhear was talk of sourcing lab equipment and chemicals." Addy looks over "Mobile drug lab? Meth?" She asks. Foster nods his head "For most of these radical groups, narcotics is their main source of income. And two weeks ago, my department brought down their primary meth lab."
Harper raises her hand "Lopez and I will hit up our CIs, see if any of them have heard of a mobile drug lab." Tim nods his head and shows everyone a picture of the suspected vehicle "If anyone comes across the actual truck, isolate it, and then call the bomb squad." Tim says.
