** Addison sighed in relief as she saw her familiar home come into view. The long familiar road eventually came to an end when Addison drove her Bronco into the garage.
The sun was beginning to rise as it illuminated the sky with shades of orange. Addison shut off her car with a small sigh happy to be home. She looked down at the time on her phone: 6:30 am it read. She had been gone for over an hour down at the beach. Usually she would spend hours at the beach but today was her first day at work so, she couldn't be late.
She climbed on top of her tire unlatching the clips that were holding her surf board together. Addison loved to surf, she loved the beach. It was her safe space where felt safe and calm. She would either go to the beach to surf early morning before sunrise, or evening during sunset especially to avoid the large crowds of people.
Addison walked into her home and got her self ready for work. The raven haired girl was a confident woman who barely got nervous. But, she couldn't help but feel some jitters spiral up in her stomach.
All her life her parents wanted her to be a surgeon just like them but, to say the least it wasn't in Addison's cards. She did the complete opposite of what they did which made them upset but still being supportive from a distance.
Addison walked into her bedroom seeing her boyfriend, Austin getting up and ready for work. He turned and looked at her with a smile. Austin was a small District Attorney out of Mid-Wilshire he was friends with everyone in his office. Including his best-friend, Wesley Evers.
"Hey! You're back. How was it?" He asked her as he walked over to her giving her a kiss. Addy smiled "It was good there was some good waves out there".
The Latina walked over to her dresser and put something on. Her uniform was hanging up on the side of her still in it's plastic sheath from the dry cleaners.
Austin watched his girlfriend get ready as she put on some minimal make up and did her hair. Austin was the type of guy who loved his girlfriend but, would get very jealous when someone looked or talked to her that wasn't a female. 90% of their arguments were about his insecurities.
Addy sighed in relief as she finished getting ready her belongings on the bed waiting for her. She looked up at Austin "I'll see you later. I love you" she says before grabbing her things.
** Rookie day was by far most one of the most exciting but dreadful times for the Mid-Wilshire team. As Officer Tim Bradford thought it was Christmas and The Purge day all in one. He couldn't help but think the whole car ride to the station who his new rookie was going to be. Who was he going to torment for the next year?
