** Addy was officially off of maternity leave. Ellie was three months old, and starting to meet all of her milestones. Tim had been working long hours at Metro. While Addy switched over to eight hour work days instead of 12 hours. Ellie was being baby sat by Tamara and Luna. Which they both seemed to enjoy the baby cuddles.
Aaron was returning to work as he was cleared for duty by Dr. Blake London, who was the new psychologist that the station hired. Addy was a bit nervous to go back to work. The thought of pumping every 2-3x hours was exhausting but she had to do it. Another challenge was being without Ellie.
The last few weeks Lucy had kept Addy and Ellie company when Tim was working nights. Addy had helped Lucy study for her detectives exam. She would come over almost every night and study with her. When the day came for Lucy to take her exam she was a nervous wreck. But, Addy had given her a pep talk right before. She was hoping it would be enough.
Before Addy left for the station she had packed up her bag with her pump, milk storage bags, an ice pack, and some protein bars. She was a bit anxious going back to work. Dr. Blake London had reached out to her before hand, and had asked if she needed to talk before returning to work. But, Addy had declined.
Addy hadn't seen Tim in a full 24 hours. He had worked a double shift at Metro. But, he knew that she was returning to work today, and was hoping to see her at the station. Tim had felt awful lately. He was barely around helping with Ellie, and getting more bonding time with her. He felt like he barely saw Addison either. They barely had any intimate moments with one another.
Once Addy got to the station the familiar smell of burnt coffee filled the air. The familiar scene of officers rushing around the prescient, and chatter filled the air. It was a comforting environment that Addy was so used to. Addy had greeted many officers, on her way in. She spots Lucy talking to Tim.
Addy walks over to them and greets them both. Tim looks over at Addy and smiles. Her hair was slightly curled, her makeup was simple, and her outfit was nice. He thought she looked good. All he wanted to do was have a minute alone with her.
Lucy was venting about how she failed the detectives exam. Tim was trying to console her but, Lucy insisted she was fine. "Look, I told you I'm fine. I'll just retake the detective's exam in two years. It's not a big deal." She says with a sigh. She continues on "I'm not gonna pretend like I wasn't a little disappointed. But I've made my peace with it. Plus, I'm a professional." She says trying to reassure herself.
"I'm fine" she says finally before walking away. Tim looks at Addy and smiles "Hey" he says softly. Addy smiles back he looked good. He was wearing grey cargo pants, and his black metro shirt. She missed him. "Hey, how was your shift?" She asked him as they start walking to her office.
