September 2023

Tonight was finally the night.

Travis and I had been texting back and forth like two giddy teenagers for the past few weeks, and it had finally come to the day I got to meet this man in person.

These past few weeks have been incredible. I've been giggling and kicking my feet like I'm in high school every time I see his notification on my phone.

Right now though, I wasn't waiting for his reply. I was sitting in the car, on my way to his house for the first time. Part of me was so nervous I could throw up, but the other part of me was so so excited to finally meet this man that's had me blushing at all hours of the day.

The game wasn't until tomorrow, but Travis had asked if I wanted to have dinner with him the night before, and of course I accepted his invitation eagerly.

As the car pulled into the long driveway, I couldn't help but notice all the perfectly trimmed hedges and gorgeous flowers leading up to his house. I knew he'd have a nice place, but I didn't think it would be this nice. The sun setting turned the sky a purple pink above his house, which only made this whole thing feel more surreal.

The car came to a stop around the circular end of the driveway, in front of the short path to the front door.

"Would you like me to walk you to the door Ms Swift?" My driver politely asked me as I took a deep breath.

"You're never going to just call me Taylor are you" I laughed, shaking my head. "I think I'll be okay, thank you for driving me here. I'll message you when dinner's over, but I think I'll probably be there for a while, around 9pm I think." I smiled, fixing up my hair before getting out of the car.

"No worries, I'll stay close by. Let me know if anything changes." He smiled as I got out of the car.

"I will, thank you!" I exclaimed, closing the door and watching him drive away.

I turned to face the door, then took the few steps needed to be within arms reach of the doorbell. Taking a deep breath, I pressed the doorbell, and waited patiently, making last minute adjustments to my short skirt.

The anticipation rose quickly inside me as I heard footsteps approaching the door, and before I knew it, the front door was swung open and Travis was standing in front of me.

"Taylor! I-It's amazing to finally meet you!" Travis said with the biggest grin on his face.

He stuttered. Maybe he was just as nervous as I was. That made me feel a lot better.

My eyes instantly wondered his body. His perfectly fitted jeans and collared shirt. He looked amazing.

"Hi!... its amazing to um- to finally meet you... too." I managed to spit out. Words were supposed to be my thing, but apparently not right now. I mentally hit myself for sounding to stupid already.

"Come in, come in." Travis gestured as he stepped out of the doorway, letting me walk inside.

"Your place is beautiful, I love it." I smiled, looking around at all the pictures on the walls. It really felt like a home rather than a house.

"Oh I'm sure it's nothing compared to your houses" Travis blushed and slightly glanced at the ground. Something about seeing a big football player get all nervous and shy made my heart melt.

"No really, I love it. It's so... entrancing." I said, admiring all the small details.

"Entrancing?" Travis let out a small laugh as he shut the front door behind me.
