I wrote this chapter super fast, so I don't really like it, but for some reason I couldn't think of any ways to write it better, and inspiration just wasn't flowing. Here you go anyways though, it was a request and I apologise to the person that requested this, I tried 😭🫶🏻

"Thank you for this, Trav." I smiled gratefully up at the man next to me as I placed my hand onto his thigh.

Travis and I were still very much in the honeymoon phase of our relationship, to the point where even right now, out at dinner together, we couldn't bear to sit across from each other. We'd chosen to both sit on the booth side, our hips and shoulders touching, to be as close as physically possible.

"I'm sorry it's not more private, I did ask for a closed off section but–

"It's okay." I assured him, "It's perfect." Smiling, I tilted my chin up and pressed my lips softly against his, kissing him gently.

As the night went on, Travis and I enjoyed delicious food together, and shared multiple drinks. We were both a little bit tipsy, but nothing we couldn't manage. Plus- Tree would murder both of us if we got drunk on one of our first few public outings.

The waiter brought over the check, and Travis insisted on paying. I smiled, appreciating his chivalry.

After 11pm, the restaurant, more specifically the bar section of the restaurant, started to get busier. "We should  probably head off." Travis suggested, and although I wasn't ready for the night to be over, I nodded. Sometimes I hated that I had to be so careful in situations like these, I couldn't just live my life. I felt more bad that Travis had to make so many scarifies to be with me, too, but he'd insisted it was worth it.

I texted my security to let them know we were leaving, and they said the car would be around soon. Travis clutched my hand, and we walked through the restaurant together.

The crowds of people were suddenly overly intimidating, and I felt everybody's eyes on us as we made our way towards the exit. I hadn't felt this stared down in a long time, and my heart pounded in my chest. Travis squeezed my hand protectively and I took a deep breath. I'd be okay with him.

"Watch out Mr. Football guy, she's just gonna cheat on you!" Some guy from the bar yelled out, and I felt my heart sink to the deepest pit in my chest. I wasn't sure if Travis heard him, but he gave my hand another little squeeze, which was my indicator that he did. I tried not to let silly comments bother me, but for some reason, today it did.

"Ignore him..." I whispered, trying to keep the situation from escalating.

"You're gonna get a little breakup song written about you!" Another guy yelled. My lip trembled, but I just looked down, and tried to focus on my short steps through the crowd that Travis led me through.

Just as we started to approach the back exit, a relatively drunk man who was standing near us yelled out, "She's a fuckin' whore! You're making a mistake Kelce!"

My eyes welled with tears, and half a second later, Travis turned and without letting go of my hand, trodded through the crowd towards the guy that made the last comment.

"Hey!" Travis yelled, "You shut the fuck up." He demanded, and I clutched his hand tighter, my eyes widening. Tree had told us very explicitly to never talk back to anyone who made comments like this, especially with any sort of aggression.

"What are you gonna do? Does your little princess need her big strong man to defend her?" The guy smiled mockingly, and I couldn't stopped the single tear that dripped down my face. I felt cameras pointed at us from every angle, and I desperately just wanted to leave before this could get any worse.

"Fuck off!" Travis yelled, and I tried to gently tug his hand to pull him away, but he was far too strong.

"She's a slut!" The guy chuckled, and before I could drag Travis away, he pulled his hand out of mine, and punched the guy across his face, hurling him to the ground.

Gasps erupted from the crowds that had formed around us, including my own as I looked around at the number of people recording.

Travis looked back at me, his lips slightly parted, before he tightly grabbed my hand and led me quickly through the crowds, straight out to the car that was waiting for us.

He opened the door and I climbed inside, instantly bursting into tears, my emotions overwhelming me as I clutched my heaving chest. Travis climbed in right behind me, and my driver took off. He wrapped his arms around my body, and I leaned into him.

"You punched him." I sobbed quietly, tears dripping down my face.

Travis didn't say anything, but there was a tensioned silence between us that spoke volumes.

"It just happened..." He murmured a few minutes later, and I looked up at him, still softly crying.

"No one's ever done that before." I muttered and Travis frowned, rubbing a hand over my back.

"I'm so sorry Tay, I don't mean to scare you–

I shook my head, cutting him off as I grabbed his hand. "No, it's not that. I'm really thankful... no one's ever stood up for me like that but I just... the media Trav." I cried.

His grip on my hand tightened, "Let them say whatever they want. I wasn't just going to stand there and let them talk to you like that."

I nodded, my sobs softening as I wiped my tears. "I know, I just hate that this will become another headline. I don't want you to get in trouble because of me..."

"Baby," He started, wiping a tear from my cheek, "I'm not worried about any of that. All I care about is you."

I managed a small smile, and nodded, "I love you, Travis."

"I love you too," he replied, and placed a soft kiss onto my head.

The media would blow up, Travis would probably have it rough for the next few days, but it would blow over. And if people posted the full videos, the public would surely understand why he did what he did. He was just trying to protect me.
