When Joong doubts

Joong spotted Dunk sitting by the beach looking as the waves roll by. Phuwin, Gemini and Fourth were off to find their own entertainment, while Pond was no where in sight. Joong sat beside Dunk.

"Khoorp khun na khup (Thank you). Phu and Gem told me that you've helped them a lot in making this possible." Joong waves it off saying that it is every part of his duty as his friend to make his birthday memorable.

"This is just what I needed before the upcoming two weeks." He sighed. Pond walks towards them just as Dunk spoke, handing them a bottle of beer each.

"it's nice isn't it?" Pond said as he sat down beside Dunk

"Just perfect, khoorp jai (Thank you) na meung" Dunk leans his head on Pond's shoulder. Joong wonders if he was third-wheeling at the moment. Pond shook his head gesturing that they would talk later.

"gor baawk gu tung tung (tell me honestly), what is your relationship with Dunk?!" Joong asked the moment they were alone.

"Gor puuean rak ngai(we're best friends)! Nothing more." Joong really wanted to believe what Pond said but yet finding it difficult to push away his doubts. Images of Pond being intimate with Dunk flashed his mind- Pond hugging Dunk calling him teerak after the dinner at Dunk's house, Pond carrying Dunk in his arms at the hospital, Dunk's head on his lap while he strokes his hair and Dunk leaning his head on his shoulder fresh in his mind.

"It doesn't look like it, Pond... it really doesn't" Joong sighs.

"We've been each other's safe zone since young. We've been through a lot together. If you want to be with him, you're going to have to accept that I'm part of his life!" Joong's eyes widen as Pond challenged him.

It's why he lets me pursue Dunk. Joong thought. 

He chose Joong specifically because Joong knew him well. Pond has not blindsided Joong since the beginning. He is making sure that Joong is clear where his relationship with Dunk stands and that it isn't going to change. He's making sure that he's still part of Dunk's life even if he has a faen. He's safeguarding Dunk, making sure his safe zone exist at all cause. Joong is familiar with this protective side of Pond. He respects it. Pond deflates as Joong nodded.

"What is your schedule like for the next 2 weeks?" Pond asked Joong.

"I'm actually on a break for the next 2 weeks, we just finished shooting. I don't have any endorsement event until after."

"That's great. I'm going to ask you again, are you serious about Dunk? It's not always sunshine and rainbows with him. Are you willing to stay with him during the down time?" Joong nodded with determination.

"The storm is brewing and it's going to be ugly." Pond warned.

A/N: 2 chapters today, yeay! And Pond's hidden agenda is revealed. 😆😆well partially...what do you think of the PondDunk dynamic? 

Joong really understands Pond for him to be able to see reason and not red after Pond challenge him. 🤣🤣🤣
