The waking day pulls me from my dreams. I open my eyes and it isn't quite bright yet. Looking around myself, Ezran flashes me a smile.

It's a knowing smile.

A real smile.

I believe then and there he probably heard Soren and I's whole conversation. "We're about to arrive at the Storm Spire," is all he says. I nod my head sleepily. It's good to have a home base in Xadia.

I stretch my arms above my head and Soren murmurs something before turning over. We need to be ready to start the day fresh but I let him stay asleep.

I mean, Ezran will be meeting with the dragons in Xadia, so that's pretty big news.

I'm so proud of him.

When we land, the morning sun has not yet peaking over the mountains. However, I sense its presence just below the horizon.

As we get settled into things, I'm still not used to Ibis not being here.

But the world goes on, even if we aren't ready to go with it.

Nonetheless, I decided to spend the first part of my morning at the very top of the Spire. Legs dangling over the edge, getting some Vitamin D. A strong contrast to yesterday evenings rain.

As I come downstairs when I'm ready, I walk in on Ezran practising a speech fo Soren, who is sitting on the floor, and Corvus who is standing very focused.

"Oh, Great Dragons of Xadia," he begins, "I have come from Katolis to once again call..." he stops and looks down at his paper.

Where in the world did he even get paper from?

"Call doesn't sound formal enough," he realises. "Should I say 'beseech?' Or 'entreat?'"

Soren's head quirks to the side. "Wait, is this still part of the speech or is he asking... us?"

"I would assume the question is posed at us now, Soren," I say playfully, coming in between the guys.

Ezran gives me a small smile, clearly wanting some actual input. "Do you think the dragons would rather be beseeched or entreated?"

"Beseeched," I answer confidently and Corvus gives a stern nod.

Soren however smirks sideways at me. "I think the one with the treats," he counteracts. "I mean, everyone likes treats."  He seems so sure of himself.

"That's not what the word means," Corvus sighs.

"Beseeched, Ezran," I repeat with a smile, giving Soren a hand so he can stand up. This is clearly something that needs to be perfect.

"Thank you, (Y/n)." The King sighs heavily. "I just want to make sure my words match the gravity of the situation."

Soren's grip loosens and he walks towards Ezran. "It's not fair you have to struggle through this alone," he states.

"Well he's not alone," I counteract almost defensively.

I receive a sheepish smile from them both, but Soren continues, "he deserves time to do kid stuff. If he spends all his time doing adult stuff now..." I sense the punch line coming, "he'll grow up weird... like his brother and Rayla."
