"What're you doing here?" Callum questions and I suddenly feel as though Soren and I are very out of place as the atmosphere becomes heavy and grief stricken.
But I'm happy to see her, so I stay where I am. A hand on my arm tells me I'm not alone with the other two. The bright moon behind her is a perfect setting. A gorgeous ambiance giving Rayla a certain glow.
"I came back," she says in a lighthearted voice, as I feel a tear streak my cheek as she looks my way.
"I can see that," Callum mumbles and I can't take it anymore. On quick feet I make my way over to the Moonshadow elf and pull her into a tight embrace.
Thankfully, she returns it.
"I missed you so much," I whisper as I feel her features move into a grin. As I pull apart, I take my fingers through her hair, then touch the tips of her new outfit. She still wears the necklace. "You look good, girl," I smirk and she takes my hands in hers.
"You too," she beams and looks behind me, "I'm glad someone is still by you," she states, obviously looking at Soren.
"Hello, Elf," he declares and I'm thankful for their compromise.
As I watch Callum busy himself with collecting his items, I know it's my time to leave. "You'll be okay?" I ask him kindly as I walk past and he gives me a sure nod, but there is no joy in his eyes.
It worries me.
But he's a big boy and so I leave the two of them with their feelings as I exit the room with Soren.
Once we get around the next corner after walking in silence, he stops me and puts both hands on my shoulders. "You alright?"
As he puts his right hand on my cheek, I tilt my head into it and nod contently, "very," I chuckle.
"That's good," Soren smiles at me, removing both hands. "We've got an important guest coming tomorrow, it'll be a big day," he winks and my grin stretches, "but I still have time to walk you to your room?" I incline my neck at the offer, "well then," he extends his arm, "M'lady."
"Ooh" I gladly take his bicep, "out of all the nicknames, that one isn't terrible," I admit.
It's a nice walk back to my room, the kind of silence that isn't too heavy at all, but airy and full of simple happiness.
He leaves me at my door with a goodnight kiss on the cheek. Once inside I feel myself on that stupid little high he gives me. After getting changed, I collapse onto my bed in a euphoric daze.
It's more than enough.

I rub my eyes as I sit up to see the familiar features of a Moonshadow Elf at the end on my bed. "Rayla," I yawn, pleased to remember what happened last night. I hear horses neigh from outside and panic when I see bright sunlight, filtering through my window. "Wait what time is it!?"
She laughs at me like I'm a crazy person, "tents outside have only just started set up if that's what you're asking," I'm informed. Sighing a breath of relief, I put my feet over the edge to stand up.
However I stop at the sight of that little pet of hers. "Uh, Rayla," she looks to the floor. "What actually is this?" I tilt my head at the small creature and exclaim with surprise and it starts crawling up my leg.
Rayla grabs it from off my thighs, "she's a Cuddlemonkey. Her name is Stella."
"Well," I stroke the animal's head. "She's gorgeous," I receive a purr-like sound. "So," I walk over to my wardrobe, "how did last night go?"
