Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to pay a visit to the police station. At least, not after one of their most beloved and respected officers died. But John B wasn't aware that Ward had blamed him. Maggie tried to convince him of the fact that it was likely. She was sure Daniel had blamed her for her father's death, too. This was simply the way men like that thought.

JB still wanted to tell the story from his perspective. He walked into the station in his still bloody clothes. "I swear to God, if we have to flee again, I'm gonna jump out of the car." Adriana said. She sounded serious, but she never was. Sometimes it was hard to tell when Adriana was sarcastic about something and when she was serious, especially when she was nervous.

Nevertheless, John B ran out of the police station a few moments later. He shouted for Kie to start the car as he ran and opened the door. One of the officers who'd run after him almost climbed into the van before Kie drove off. John B shut the door.

"What did you do?" Kie screamed.

The officer on the outside yelled for John B to open the door, but she soon tripped on the cobblestones on the road. All that could be heard in the small van were the heavy breathes the Pogues let out. Kie's eyes were on the road. Adriana — who sat in the passenger seat — turned around to watch John B. Her expression was concerned, but confused.
