Chapitre 40: Vengeance (Spécial Anglais (USA))

The next day, she went to school without breakfast and without seeing her parents, because when you see your parents, you see your aunt.

Her parents go out to do some shopping in town. Elisa offers to watch Imran while they go out. Habiba hesitates for a long time, but Elisa reassures her. She finally accepts.

A few minutes before going to her first class, Maïra receives a call from the school. She goes there immediately. A lady tells her that someone wants to talk to her on the phone. She takes the call:

Maïra: Who's calling please?

Imran: in tears, My vanilla, please come and save me!

Maïra hears thumping in the background.

<Open the f*cking door, you little brat, or you're going to the pot>

Imran: crying and scared, Come and save me. Auntie wants to kill me.

Maïra: keep your cool, calm down. Take a breath. I'll be right there.

She hangs up, thanks the lady and runs towards the university exit.
Amir passes her and sees the worry on Maïra's face. He decides to follow her.
He hurries to her side and stops her.

Amir- The class is about to start. Where are you going?

Maïra- I don't have the time, Amir.

Amir- Which I can totally see, but at least tell me what's going on.

Maïra- While continuing towards the trail from the other day, my choco....I mean, my brother is in danger.

Amir- You should have said. I'll go with you, but hurry. You mustn't go this way alone.

Meanwhile, Imran was doing everything in his power to prevent his aunt from entering the room where he was hiding. Imran can't stop crying and flashes of his kidnapping flash through his mind. In a state of stress and fear, he starts to suffocate and becomes bradycardic.

A few minutes after running along the path, Maïra bursts through the front door and runs upstairs to find her brother. She sees her aunt holding a knife, talking quietly.

<Come here my little Imran, I'm not going to hurt you,> with an evil smile. I just want my phone back, that's all. If you don't get out of here, I'll chop you up and barbecue you with chilli sauce>

She runs towards her, and slams her hard against the wall, causing the knife she was holding to fall.

Élisa- Oh, but who do I see? A dying man coming to see his little brother at the end of his life?

Maïra- angry, Why put my brother through this?

Elisa presses on Maïra's wound. Seeing the pain, she pulls away. She sees her aunt hurry to get the knife. Maïra runs and kicks the knife. When the aunt steps forward, Maïra stops her by the arm. Her aunt pushes her violently. Maïra falls to the ground, gets up and holds her by the foot, causing the aunt to fall. Amir arrives upstairs. He picks up the aunt, puts his hands behind her and sticks her head against the wall. Maïra gets up and rushes into the room. She sees her brother crying. She runs to him and takes him in her arms.

Maïra- Don't worry. Everything is fine now.

She hears her aunt screaming.

Elisa- When your parents come back. I'm gonna humiliate the shit out of you.

She leaves the room, holding her brother's hand.

Maïra- icy, we'll see, Cruella.

Amir goes down to the living room with the aunt. He makes her sit on a chair and ties her up (feet, hands, mouth).
While they wait for the parents to return, Maïra and Amir try to calm Imran, who appears to be heavily traumatized.

"Amir- holding Imran's cheeks, Hey, little one! Do you remember me?

Imran- looks at him sadly, Yes. You're the superhero who came to save us.

Amir- smiles, Right. So, the superhero has come to save you once again, okay? Now breathe easy. Because know that me and your sister will always be there for you. Okay?

Imran- reassured, Yes. You're going to be her husband, aren't you? Don't forget to buy a beautiful ring for her!

Amir- embarrassed, smiles, It's that...

Imran- Don't worry, I'm just kidding, with an innocent smile. But you'll always be my superhero, okay?

Amir- smiles at him, Deal!

Maïra's parents come home. Ali sees his gagged sister screaming for help. He rushes to free her.

Ali- Who did this to you?

Élisa- Your dear little girl and her boyfriend, pointing at those concerned...
