Weasley Twins - A Fate You Can't Escape

Chapter 90 - Inevitable

Thankfully the nightmares stop after my visit to Snape. I feel a bit nauseous thinking about the task that lays ahead of Snape though. Once it happens, he will be cast out from the Order, considered a traitor. Everyone will hate him for something he had to do to protect the Malfoy kid. But no one would understand.

I sit at the dinner table with parts of the Weasley clan. Both twins, Bill, Fleur, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are gathered for a Saturday family dinner.  It feels weirdly normal. I didn't have practice today, and the joke shop closed early.

"I'll actually be back at the end of the month. I'm taking some shifts at Hogwarts. It will be fun to be back." Bill comments, pouring his fiancé a mug of coffee.

"It will be lovely to have you back, dear." Molly says, placing a hand on her eldest's cheek.

"Thanks, mum."  Bill then turns to where I sit with Fred.  "So I heard you two are together now?"

"Yeah.  Since around New Year's."  I confirm.

"Wow, five months!  Congrats you two."  Bill says.

"Oh, so you are with Fred now?"  Fleur pipes in with her thick accent.  "I thought that you were with the other one..."

"George?  No.  That was a long time ago.  He cheated on me."  I grimace.

"Non!  The other one!  The older one with the dragons, Charlie." She looks around the table.  Molly and Arthur look confused and I blush.

"No.  I am not with Charlie."

"But at Christmas you were in his room!"  Fleur pushes, not noticing Bill trying to tell her to hush.

"Yes.  But I am not with, nor have I ever been with, Charlie."  I state clearly, looking her in the eyes.  "I am dating Fred, and have been since January."

"I just do not understand."  Fleur turns to her boyfriend.  "I thought they... what do you call it?  Hooked up?  At Christmas."

Molly and Arthur turn to me with wide eyes.  Sweet Merlin, Fleur, please shut up.

"No!  I did not hook up with Charlie!"  I protest.

"If you say so."  Fleur says in a tone that clearly shows she doesn't believe me.

"Fleur, she didn't hook up with Charlie."  Fred sighs, shaking his head.  "Leave her alone."

"I was not trying to attack her, I was simply confused."  The French woman declares, looking a bit miffed.

"It's fine."  I interrupt, not wanting to keep talking about it.  "How is work going for you two?" 

"Quite well!"  Fleur says smiling.  She and Bill dive into stories of their adventures, taking the attention off of me.  I finish my dinner and dessert is served before I am brought back into the conversation.

"How did things go with Severus last night?"  Molly asks as she passes out the cake.

"Good.  The nightmares should be over now."  I smile politely as I take a slice.

"That's great sweetie!  Did you two figure out what was causing them?"  She kisses the top of my head as she passes.

"Yeah.  It was one of my seer dreams, but since I couldn't remember it, the dream kept coming back.  Now that I can remember it, it won't be back."  I give a simple explanation, not daring to go into what it was about.  Dumbledore went through a lot of trouble to keep people from knowing about it.  And Snape trusted me with the very sensitive information.  I know I can't tell the Order.  They would try to stop it.  But Snape and Dumbledore have agreed to the event in order to protect Draco.  I am not going to stand in the way of that.  That boy needs someone looking out for him.
