I stumble through the floo at the Burrow on the verge of passing out. For some reason, things are a bit rougher this moon. Charlie quickly takes both Teddy and my duffle off my hands, understanding that I feel like crap. After six moons together, he's a pro. I wish I could say the same about myself.
I walk into the kitchen, desperately needing some coffee. To my surprise, I find the oldest Weasley boy already at the table. He's nursing his own cup of coffee, staring down blankly at the table. He looks up when he hears me approaching, eyebrows shoot up.
"Dang, Taylor, you look worse than I do." He chuckles, his fingers subconsciously running along the scars on his face.
"Ah, well." I shrug, heading over to the coffee maker, not actually giving him a reason. "The moon got you all messed up then?"
"Yeah. Just makes me feel a bit sick." He gives me a weak smile and I return it with similar energy. I pour myself a cup, not bothering with the usual fixings due to being too tired to expend the effort. I collapse into the chair next to Bill, bringing the cup to my lips with shaky hands.
"You trying to give me the flu?" He teases, nudging me with his elbow. I wince at the contact, my skin somehow sore.
"I'm not contagious." I promise, drinking more of the beverage, praying that the caffeine does something. The full moon isn't even until tomorrow night. I have to put up with it worsening for another day still. I groan, feeling like I'm going to die if it gets much worse.
"Merlin, Hazel. You okay? You're not pregnant are you?"
I respond silently with my middle finger. He chuckles softly.
"Fair enough." We sit silently for a bit, drinking our coffee like it would bring the life back to our worn bodies. After a bit, Charlie joins us.
"Ah, birds of a feather." He teases, sitting across from us. I glare at him and he clamps his mouth shut, realizing his slip up. "You know, because you're both drinking coffee."
I mentally facepalm. Sometimes he's an idiot.
"Right." Bill murmurs, eyeing his brother uncertainly. "So you guys kissing at midnight?"
"No!" Both Charlie and I yell in unison.
"Oh, wow." Bill raises his hands, taken aback. "I get the picture."
"Sorry." I mumble, cheeks burning.
"We just get tired of being asked if we're together." Charlie offers a bit of an explanation. Not exactly the truth, not exactly a lie.
I hear heavy footsteps trample down the stairs and Ron pokes his head into the kitchen.
"Hey, Hazel. Harry and I were wondering why Teddy's hair is so blonde. Normally he changes it to match Harry, but the kid seems pretty taken with the blonde." Ron leans against the back of one of the empty chairs.
"Oh, yeah. That's because he really likes Draco." I shrug. He slips off the chair, catching himself before he falls.
"What?"
"You know Draco Malfoy right?" I frown. I thought they knew him pretty well considering he is in their class at school.
"Of course I know that little ferret! But why does Teddy know him! You should be protecting him from the likes of Malfoy!" Ron's face heats a bit, angry at me.
"Whoa. Calm down there, Ron." I shake my head. "Draco is not only my friend, but he's also Teddy's bio uncle. He was at Andromeda's this week with us."
