In the early house of the morning, I am awoke to pain as the sun breaks along the horizon. It's time to change back. As I breathe through the pain, I can smell that Snape is still out there waiting for me. Based upon the sounds of his breathing, I think he's asleep.
I climb down off the bed, claws clicking on the floor as I prepare to shift. The horrible pain consumes me once again, my body returning to human form. When the pain lets up, I'm back in my body, laying naked on the floor. I stand on shaky legs, reaching for my things in the rafters. Once I'm dressed, I use my wand to dispel the enchantments Snape put on the place.
I slip into the tunnel and start looking around for the headmaster. I find him slumped against the wall, fast asleep.
"Sir?" I kneel, gently shaking his shoulder. "It's morning."
He sleepily opens his eyes.
"Hi." I smile at him.
"You're okay." He states, waking up fully.
"I am." I agree. He grabs me and holds me tightly for a moment, sighing with relief.
"Did you shift?"
"Yeah, I did. But not fully. I kept my own mind, so that was good." I tell him. He releases me and looks at me with surprise.
"You kept your mind?"
"Yes, that's what I just said. Made for a bit of a boring night if I'm honest." I shrug, standing up. I offer my hand to help him up as well.
"But that's great news." He takes my hand, letting me pull him to his feet.
"I guess. I'd be better if I hadn't shifted though."
"Like you said last night, it's too late for all that." He reminds me and we follow the tunnel back to the school.

The students return for Easter break, and things are getting more intense. Most of the muggle born students don't return, most likely going into hiding. Hogwarts is no longer the safest place for them. Ginny Weasley does return though. And she returns with a rage like none other. She doesn't attend a single meal or lesson. Instead, she spends her time hexing the Snape and the Carrows. Nothing Fred and George ever did compared to Ginny. She holds back nothing.
I check the spot every day, and on the third day, there is a note.
H,
Luna has been returned. She's going into hiding for the time being with her father. Apparently the trio rescued her from Malfoy manor. I feel like things are going to come crashing down soon. Be ready.
G'
I burn the note, not wanting to risk saving it even with the password. Anxiety rushes through me, making my heart race. Will I be able to save them? How many casualties until everything is over? How many that people I care about will die?
Over the next week, more and more of the older students join Ginny in her crusade. Unfortunately, the Carrows retaliate. They start regularly torturing students in class for fun. Kids are forced to use unforgivables on each other.
Children start going missing, and I hope it's the work of Ginny and Neville, and not the death eaters. I try my best to keep the Carrows away from the room of requirements where I know the DA is meeting again. As stealthy as they are coming and going, the foot traffic does leave a lot of dirt and footprints behind. So, strangely enough, one of my ways to help, it to regularly mop the corridor. Which to avoid suspicion, means I have to mop several corridors. Filch seems to like me now at least.
