June tenth is an interesting day to say the least. I wake up feeling like garbage and I realize I have yet to explain my new condition to Charlie. I figure that he'll be pretty understanding considering Bill's similar issues.
I snuggle up on the couch with one of Charlie's many books on dragons while I wait for him to wake up. I cast a warming charm on my blanket to keep me cozy as I have chills. Teddy is still sleeping and I try to enjoy the quiet time. Really I just feel like I'm catching the flu.
After about a half hour he stumbles out of his room. His hair is a mess and he's wearing only a pair of plaid pajama pants.
"Nice shirt." I snort, startling him.
"Merlin Hazel! You scared me!" He groans, shaking his head.
"Not as much as your blindingly white chest scared me." I retort, pulling the blanket up to my chin.
"No need to be shy about it. I know I'm hot." He teases, putting his hands behind his head and flexing.
"Sure." I say, completely deadpan. "Can those muscles please make me some coffee. I feel like crap."
Sticking his lower lip out in a pout, he sulks off to the kitchen to do as requested.
"Thank you!"
A few minutes pass and he returns with two steaming cups. He hands me one before taking the seat beside me.
"You look like crap. Are you okay?" He asks, giving me a clear opening to explain everything. I find myself reluctant to do so.
"I'm going to need you to take care of Teddy tonight." I start, skirting around the issue still.
"Sure, absolutely." He nods, agreeing immediately. "But you didn't answer my question."
"Yeah, yeah." I sigh. "So, some stuff happened when I was at Hogwarts. This spring I had a... sexual partner."
"I don't need to know this." Charlie scrunches his nose.
"Hush, it's relevant." I wave my hand at him. "He was a werewolf."
"Was?" Charlie interrupts.
"Yes, now hush. Anyway, he bit me, in human form on the day of the full moon."
"So you're like Bill with some wolfy instincts?"
"Sort of?" I chew my lip.
"Sort of?" He turns my face, forcing eye contact. "Hazel, what does "sort of" mean?"
"I turn." I start, but he interrupts before I can finish.
"Merlin, Hazel! You didn't think to tell me earlier! The full moon is tonight!" He shouts, jumping up from the couch.
"Shut up, and let me finish!" I snap, my wolf anger taking over.
"I-". He freezes, clamping his mouth shut.
"I transform fully physically, but I keep my own mind. It's more like an unwilling Animagus situation." I finish, then gesture for him to speak.
"Oh," he says, blushing slightly. "Sorry I freaked out."
"Sorry I yelled at you." I smile sheepishly.
"Quite the temper you got there." He teases, sitting back down.
"It's that time of the month." I jest back, laughing with him.

At the end of June, Charlie and I decide to take a trip back to London. It's been three weeks, and I feel like Teddy should see his grandmother and his godfather. He's grown so much in the little while I've had him. He's much more alert, and is lifting his head pretty well.
