I wake up the next morning to a response from my old Potions master. Owlexander is asleep on his perch by the window. The envelope with my name, sits on my dresser. I get out a treat for my boy and leave it next to his perch for when he awakens.
Fred still sleeps in the bed, and I leave him be. I'd rather have a few minutes to process whatever Snape says before telling him. I tear open the envelope and pull out the piece of parchment.
"Miss Taylor,
I will meet you in my office at seven this evening.
Professor Snape"
I shake my head at the bluntness of the note. He did not waste any unnecessary words. I leave the note on my desk and get ready for practice. It makes me feel a bit better to have some sort of plan in place.
Fred is still asleep when I need to leave, so I give him a gentle kiss on the cheek and close the door quietly behind me. I moved into his room last week. Molly decided it was a good idea after the eighth night in a row of my screams waking the whole house.
I grab a cup of coffee and apparate to the pitch as usual. I yawn, exhausted, slumping down on the locker room bench. I take a sip of my coffee, too tired to get my quidditch robes on quite yet. I watch as Vivian and Alex enter, both heading to their lockers.
"Good morning, Hazel." Alex greets me.
"Hmph." I grunt, disagreeing.
"Still having the nightmares?" He asks, frowning.
"Obviously."
"Have you tried dreamless sleep?"
"Yes, and it doesn't help. I've tried a variety of potions and charms, but they don't work." I snap before yawning yet again.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." He nods, turning to give me some space.
"I'm sorry, Alex. I'm being a jerk." I sigh, shoulders slumping. "I'm just so tired."
"It's fine. I get it." Alex nudges me with his arm and I give him a small smile.

I eat dinner at the Burrow with Fred and his parents. I keep yawning throughout the whole meal, nearly falling asleep in my food at one point.
"Did he reply to you?" Fred asks, taking a bite of his pasta.
"Yes. I'm heading over here in a bit." I nod, pushing my own spaghetti around with my fork. I don't feel very hungry.
"Like tonight?"
"Yep." I pop the 'p.'
"Who, sweetheart?" Molly asks, passing her husband the plate of rolls. "If you don't mind me asking."
"I'm going to see Professor Snape about my nightmares tonight. It was actually Fred's idea." I give my boyfriend's hand a grateful squeeze.
"I hope he can help. I hate that you've been having to deal with those."
"Thanks, Mrs. Weasley. I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes." I check the time. "Actually, I should probably head out now. I'll have to walk all the way to his office from Hogsmeade."
"Be safe, dear." Molly says, a sympathetic smile on her face.
"What she said," Fred chuckles, kissing my cheek.
"Bye. I don't know when I'll be back, so don't bother waiting up." I grab my purse and my wand, and apparate to Hogsmeade. It's a much more pleasant walk than it was over the winter months. The sun is starting to set as I head up the path to the castle looming in the distance. I walk in through the familiar double doors as dinner is letting out from the Great Hall. I weave through the floor of uniform clad students, and make my way down to the dungeons.
